What a wonderful deal to help out local shelters!! Thank you Collin.

    • rachel

I was thinking the same thing. 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You both ROCK! 🙂

  2. Judy Trac

Wish this was for dog food

  3. CourtneyAmanda

Even if you have no cat, do this for a shelter!!!!

  4. Stefanie

I was just coming to comment and ask if shelters would take these, so I will definitely be doing this!

  5. v

Some food banks may take them as well. I saw a news story about how some food bank clients ask about pet food for their 4 legged companions. Give em a call to see if local ones accept pet food.

  6. Susie

There is also a $3 off $20 or more for Sheba and temptations (also with manufacturer and Target match-up coupons).

  7. Michelle

Wouldn’t you need to buy 15 cans? If it’s the same as the target coupon policy for a BOGO, then you can’t use an additional coupon free items. So should you pay for 10 (to use the $2 off 10) and get 5 for free? Correct me if I’m wrong. I’d love to hear if it works without beep-age.

    • Amanda

I just did it, it worked fine! 🙂

    • Hailey

It’s only if target was giving you the item free. Not the coupon

  8. Susan

I just came home from Target using this exact deal. I feed quite a few neighborhood strays and they love it.

    • Paola

Susan-that’s great! I do the same and was so excited to get to do this deal! I am going back tomorrow to see if I can get some more. 🙂

  9. Marci

Im about to go get some… we only have a dog but i am sure the shelter here would love it!

  10. T

Denied :(… Cashier wouldn’t let me use a coupon on free items. Called manager who said same thing. I thought that was okay at Target. Thank you anyway:)

  11. Julie

Which do you hand first, Target coupon or manufacturer? Does it matter?

    • tanyam

I gave target cpn first, then manuf. and lastly Cartwheel

  12. Casey Neyers

I know this deal is for cats but does anyone have a deal on can dog food that I can use at Walmart?

  13. Becky

Our student council in our elementary school always does a pet food drive.
Love this one for donating. Thank you 🙂

  14. Niki

Curious if anyone knows the best way to stock up on this, my cat and I just found out he’s diabetic and this food he loves .. I’d like to get as many cans as I can. So could I do this deal and then my boyfriend do this deal, and also have my boyfriends mom do this deAl?

    • Susi

Sure, each person can do the deal!

    • megan

we had a diabetic cat for many years that took two insulin shots a day and you have to really watch what food you give them…we did a lot of “label reading” when we had him….good luck with your kitty!!!

      • Niki

Thanks Megan, yes his sugar leek was in the 900s and it’s suppose to be near two hundred , when I went to the bet they told me to give him insulin within 48 hours or he would probably die but with lots of praying and switching his diet he is doing a million times better, I do notice me read labels constantly but I much prefer that over giving him shots everyday.

        • roxy

coconut oil does wonders for diabetes for pets too. do some research. might help your kittykitty

    • Carol_R

You can do it yourself repeatedly. Target’s Cartwheel works for 4 identical items per transaction and up to 6 transactions per day. You can get 2 prints per PC for the Target $2/10 coupon. If I want to do a repeat deal I just take my purchases out to my car and come back in, get the items I want to purchase and go to a different cashier.

      • Niki

Just what I was looking for carol thanks!!

  15. Susi

I cannot locate the manufacturer Q, can you tell me which zip code it is located under please?

    • Carol_R

If you click on her link it should come up.

  16. andrea martin

I was denied this deal in Target , the cashier said I had to buy 15 cans of cat food, even though the coupon says buy 5 get 5 free.

  17. Jodi

Forgot to use the cartwheel, and the cashier had to over-ride the coupon. Total came to $0.80 using red card. Still a great deal for a donation!

  18. RLEmmert04

Thanks you for Sharing this. My grandma who is on VERY limited Income (Social Security) , feeds a stray. Im going to stock up so she dont have to!!!!

  19. Cindy

Does the order you give the coupons make a difference at Target?

    • Jen D

Cindy, I would probably recommend to hand them the target store coupon first, then the MFQ, then cartwheel last.

The reason being is if you gave them the MFQ first, it makes 5 of your 10 cans ‘free’, then if you gave them the target coupon it would probably beep because to the system it thinks you only have 5 cans (not 10). I can’t confirm this for sure, but just to be safe I’d do target first and then MFQ. HTH!

  20. Jennifer

Mine worked fine! It’s always helpful if you walk up to the cashier, and say something like…”HI, how is your day? ” Not that I’m trying to get anything by them, but after you ask a question like that, they want to make your life easier. But, it was kind of awesome, today when I took my two kiddos to Target to score the Sheba, Athletic pants, and Dentyne deal; we saw this man walking into Target with dirt all over his clothes, hair grown out, a tiny bit smelly…immediately I walked to the nearest cashier and purchased a $20 gift card. After that, I couldn’t find him… So, we went on with our purchase. No problem at all with the transaction. The buy 5 get 5 is tricky, so she looked at it, and I told her the price per can and she just multiplied it by 5 (.52×5 ) and just entered the total in a box. Easy Peasy. Then, when we were leaving, we saw the same guy looking in the trash can and sitting along a wall near the entrance to Target. Not asking anyone for anything. So, we walked over to him and gave him the $20 gift card. I hope he makes the most of it!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      So kind of you. 🙂

  21. Amy

Awe Jennifer that was really sweet of you to do. Wtg

  22. Casey Meyers

That was so nice of you. I know that when I helps others it makes me feel good.

  23. carrie8

If you have a Petco nearby, they generally have a bin where they accept dog and cat food, treats and cat litter. The supplies are then given to Meals on Wheels. Many folks who receive delivery from MOW end up sharing their food with their pets so the animals don’t go hungry. When the volunteers have pet food to share, it means that the humans will eat their whole meal and get the nutrition they need, and the pets also get species-appropriate food.

    • carrie8

Or, also ANY rescue organization that feeds cats will likely take it. (Some shelters only accept a certain brand of food.)

  24. savedbycoupons

Mine only deducted $.16 on the cartwheel. Still a good deal.

    • holly

The Cartwheel calculation in the OP is when you give the CW first

  25. shelaghc

I’m not getting the math on this.
    5.20 – 2 = 3.20.
    3.20 / 2 (b5g5) = 1.60.
    10% of 1.60 is .16 – from 1.60 is 1.46.
Still a great deal, but far from $.39 for the total.

How is this coming down to $.39 for ten cans?

Mind you, I’m still going to buy these. I have a new cat who only likes canned food and eats almost two 5.5oz cans a day. This will definitely save me a few bucks.

    • Janelle

In your math, you used the B5G5 coupon and just split the total in half. In Collin’s scenario, she takes off the full value of 5 at 52 cents each.
      5.20-2 =3.20
      B5G5 (.52×5 =2.60) 3.20-2.60= .60
10% off cartwheel will take off from whatever total it calculates from (I’m never sure with cartwheel)
So it should definitely be less than .60. Hope that helps!

  26. Judy

I am not sure how this worked, I bought 30 cans (so I didn’t have to deal with crabby cashers) on my first 10 that rang up after cartwheel, I got a $10.00 gift card…no clue why??

  27. cozycoupon

I did 4 transactions 10 cans at a time so I could use my cartwheels! 45 cent each group. $1.80 for 40 cans perfect donation for a lady at my church, that cares for cats! Thank you so much Collin !

  28. Victoria

I was able to use this deal today. There was a bit of problems, but because there was a long line the manager pushed it through. I am so happy you posted this deal because we are getting a cat for my little boy for Xmas so this really helped!! Thank you!

  29. kristina

i cannot find the manuf q… help!

    • nicolegammeter

      It’s no longer available. 🙁

  30. Claudia E Florendo-Salinas

Isnt there the Buy 10 and get 10 mfc coupon epires 12/7/14. So couldn’t I buy 40 cans, use two of the buy 10, get 10 free q, use one $2 off/ 10 singles and use a $3 off a purchase of $20 of sheba target q coupon?? leaving about 2 bucks and such for 40 cans?
