They had to change their policy because of the people using fake ads online to get PS4s for $90. I’m all for saving $ but those few people ruined a good thing for everyone!

    • TL

I agree. They should be more technologically advanced, like target. Target’s customer service has iPads and will only match the price once it has been looked up on their own iPad, not someone else’s device.

    • April

Yes and people dont wanna admit this they want to keep blaming Walmart this is the exact reason why the employees are the way the are. Way to many dishonest people.

    • meg

Agree! These stupid cheating immoral people will ruin it for everyone!

    • Princess

Exactly, it’s sad because their greed has impacted those of us who are honest savers. It’s such a shame because I’m sure those corrupt people ended up selling them for close to what they were suppose to pay for them. It’s getting harder and harder to coupon and save when it’s done legitimately. Then some foolishness like this happens and now Walmart will be looking at us as if we are trying to get over. My apologies in advance for my little rant. “Whew” lol.

      • Deidre

Ridiculous 98% of Walmart’s shoppers are honest! Every store deals with theft – there is absolutely no reason to expect or accept poor treatment from any store when you are honest and spending your earned $’s! If you do that’s on you. I personally would decline to make any purchase at a store that didn’t treat me well.

        • silhouette74

98%? You obviously have never worked in Customer Service for Walmart a day in your life.

  2. Brittany

I hit them up over the weekend for it and made them price match their Little People toys to their online price. I saved $5-$20 per toy. It is insane how inflated their prices are in store-and surprisingly they didn’t give me any problems!

  3. Val

LOL…they added “misprinted or inaccurate prices”!!

    • Stephanie

      Noticed that too lol

  4. Anne

So could I price match best buys ipod price at walmart?

    • Karen

      Yes

  5. mina

and I am sure they will the specific item off of the shelves as soon as they hear about it and say “they don’t have any in stock”. I am not too impressed with their policy. They are walmart and they will not honor it.

    • Sabrina

I agree. They just released this to say they did it but when it comes down to actually using it, it’ll be a fight no matter what. Employees won’t be trained and we’ll all just end up stressed out about it. Target is easier in my town to deal with anyway.

      • michelle

I agree! I’d rather go to Target and use my red card than step foot in a walmart any day!

Some times, some things are too good to be true. Not being negative here because I go for the deals passionately….but this one seems to me that it will be a very frustrating shopping experience. I do not mean to be negative here because life if good and I am blessed. Just sharing my concerns about this price matching roll out…..

  7. robyn

I am looking for the early deals list starting tomorrow, anybody have a link?

  8. susan

The Walmart employees won’t have any knowledge or understanding of the policy so I believe it would make for a horrific shopping experience. I love to save money but my sanity comes first.

  9. April

Why do people think Walmart should not have rules like every other company I’m so glad they changed their policy cause I would hate to be in line behind someone trying to scam no one is selling $90 PS4 or $1 Tide pods. If places have it cheaper shop there.

    • Brooke

Thank you. I work for Wal-Mart and it’s so frustrating everytime Wal-Mart is brought up on a deal I feel it becomes a bash Wal-Mart session. I’ve had to deal with some of these customers trying to price match the penny items from amazon and the sears Wii u and ds glitch and its awful

  10. Ashley

So my question is for on Black Friday/Thanksgiving night. Usually our store allows you to PM other local stores if you have the ad and you are PMing at the same the time the other store is open and selling there items. Has saved me from running everywhere on BF. But with the “Special Hour/Flash/Limited Quantity offers” line does that exclude this?

  11. Carissa

I was actually in line behind someone doing this the other day. Almost all of the items they got were a penny on amazon. I looked it up when I got home and they were selling for a penny but the shipping was eleven dollars. I don’t think this will last long if people abuse it like that.

    • Courtney

that’s the third party seller clause in the new policy. target will only match if its specifically sold by Amazon. our target will only price match if they see the prime logo.

      • silhouette74

Yes it has to be directly from Amazon not the Marketplace where other ppl sell on Amazon. If it says “prime eligible” then you know its from Amazon.

    • Beth

What is the penny sale on amazon? How do you find them?

  12. Jill

I don’t like “Store Management has the final decision for matching an online price”. This gives them an out in every situation, so people can go there thinking they have a price matching policy but in fact they might not!

  13. Andrew

    Surprised they didn’t include frys.com.
Best Buy used to PM frys.com but, stopped once their prices were cheap.

  14. Ann Dee

The cashiers at my Walmart will price match within reason.
If it seems like a scam…ahem, a penny, or $90 for a $400 item, then the cashiers should check with a manager and use common sense.

I try not to worry about all the scammers. They will get theirs. It never pays to be dishonest. There are always negative consequences to wrong choices.

  15. kathy

I need an Xbox one if anyone sees a good deal

  16. Megan

Funny, I overheard the meeting this morning at Walmart and they were talking about people doing the ps4 thing last night.

  17. Victoria

what is the ps4 the you guys are talking about?

    • Princess

@Victoria, it basically started with Sears.com accidentally pricing the Wiiu bundle for $60.00 and a ton of people went to Target, Walmart, and Toys r us to price match it. I read about it the other day. I guess that gave someone the idea to create Amazon 3rd party seller accounts and list PS4’s and XBOX one’s for $80.00-$90.00 and then screen shot those listings and go to Walmart to have it price matched. Well because with everything that’s new it has kinks and bugs to be worked out. The cashiers weren’t properly trained about price matching Amazon and allowed multiple units to be purchased. I was floored when I read an article on CSNBC, but it wasn’t the fact that they did it and got away with it. It was the fact that they bragged all over social media with receipts in hand. That was the dumb part because that receipt has enough info to track them down if law enforcement wanted to. It is a crime called obtaining property by false pretense.

  18. dee

Does this included price matches on thanksgiving and black friday?

  19. katy

so the part about NOT honoring if a membership is required, does that mean amazon prime prices are not included?

    • michelle

Prime isn’t special pricing, prime only gives you shipping benefits. Everyone gets those prices. I would think this refers more to BJs, Costco, Sam’s Club etc..

  20. DJB

I used to really enjoy going to the store with my coupons in hand. I could usually “feel good” about saving our hard earned money on the things we actually NEEDED when I handed over my coupons (no, not $60 Wii U’s). Now, I am almost embarrassed. I still HAVE to use coupons to stretch our budget but it is *nowhere* near as enjoyable as it used to be because every cashier, store manager, or CSM thinks that *I* am CERTAINLY out to scheme them. It’s hard for them not to I suppose. With the NEFARIOUS acts of a WHOLE lot of people price matching things for a penny on Amazon (from 3rd party sellers that list items this way to specifically get listed as the “cheapest” and then have “close to retail” shipping costs), or taking advantage of “glitches” (there is an entire group on IG that targets (and takes full advantage of) these instances…who can NEEDS 15 PS4s for $90?), or berating the cashiers at the register with an OBVIOUSLY misprinted ad in order to prove that the “customer is always right”. I have seen it all…the BRAGGING, the stealing, the liars, and the “righteous because it’s the store’s/computer system/societies fault” or the “I’m smarter than you and OWED this” attitudes…and it’s SICK.
