I got a surprise points worth $20 but I can’t redeem it.. Can anybody help me out? Thanks!

    • Brittany

      Does it have any exclusions?

    • kasey

You can’t use it on member events

    • Sarah

I used mine on the member event just fine – must have some exclusions.

      • Monique Holladay

I used mine on the barbie. It ended up being completely free 🙂

    • Nicole S.

Vic, I would try calling them. I had the same problem with mine, and I was meeting all the requirements. They said the surprise points have been finicky lately, and then they were able to fix it for me. Good luck!

  2. Ashley

not a good deal it’s hard for kids to pedal because the pedals are up front and to far for many. Did this for my daughter and had to buy another bike because she couldn’t use it. Awesome price but the pedals are hard for little ones

    • Marcheta

I agree. My little one had the sane problem with this item.

      • Barb

I agree too! I bought the red bike last year because I had points expiring and I paid $2. I thought I was getting a great deal, turns out my poor little guy could hardly peddle the bike, he prefers his tricycle and hardly ever rode it. It’s just a clumbsy – unfunctional bike and it will just cause your little one a whole lot of frustration. Pass on this one and get a bike with normal peddling.

    • Elissa

I agree. Was about to order one until I saw where the pedal was located. I was hoping to remove the training wheels and make it into a 2-wheeler. That won’t work! 🙁

    • jess

How old was your kid? Wondering if this would be good for an almost 4 yr. She doesn’t seem to like the regular pedal ones. She can sit in the 3 wheel ones that are low to the ground and pedal.

      • Marcheta

        Mine is three.

        • Stephenie

she was three but my five year old wouldn’t even ride it!

    • Shanshan

I wouldn’t even call them bicycles. Without the proper mechanism (chains and breaks) they’re just tricycles in disguise.

    • geena

Thank you all for posting your feedback on these bikes. I didn’t even notice that the petals were in an odd spot. I placed an order for two but decided to cancel since I want my little guy learning the proper way to ride a bike. Love this site and the feedback you all share! 🙂

    • Mary

Can anyone tell me where the pedal is suppose to be then?? Will be buying my time buying a bike for toddler.. My son loves cars! But I don’t want to get it if it will be hrs to pedal…? What’s another bike to buy? He’s 2 turning 3 in March

      • Shanshan

If you google “Child’s bike” you’ll find plenty of pics of kid’s bike. Peddle should be almost directly below the seat, and when they peddle, it should move the chain, which then move the back wheel.

The bike in this post are just tricycles that looks like bike. Just look at one of them and imagine a kid sitting on it. How long their legs needs to be and how low they need to bend down so their hands can reach the handle bar…

    • Heather

My daughter had the same issue! It was her first bike, so I associated it with her being a biking-newbie.. but after reading these comments, you all are right – that would be the reason.

  4. ash

It probably limited. Super annoying. They should just pass out coupons… cause that’s all these “surprise points” really are. I hot $10 points was so excited only to find out I have to spend $75 @ sears on select ideas to use them. “/ if they thought it would rain in business there wrong.

    • Sona

I haven’t used this SYWR before and when I checked today I see I have 20 and 4$ in surprise points in my account but I am not able to use it..pls help..thanks..

      • Jennifer L.

I would call…The Shop Your Way Rewards Hotline.

8 AM-11 PM CST, 7 days a week, except for certain holidays

  5. Aleshia

This deal also works at sears.com is you do not live close to a kmart.

  6. Sarah

I don’t have shop your way. Do you have to pay a subscription? How does it work?

    • kaleena

It’s free. Just go to sears.com or kmart.com and you can sign up there. Really simple.

      • kaleena

They’ll give you a free trial of shopyourwayMAX and that part you’d have to pay a yearly fee after your trail is up. But you don’t have to do the MAX in order to be a shop your way member.

  7. Ashley

Just ordered one for a toy drive we are sponsoring at work, thanks!!

  8. Aly

This is great for the Salvation Army gift tree, almost every kid asks for a bike, at this price I’ll definitely get a few for them!

  9. Mel

I ordered the Rapunzel doll and the matching Flynn Rider earlier this afternoon (from the first Kmart post). Hubby went to pick up the order and they had two Rapunzel dolls, not the ones I ordered. The one I ordered has the removal dress and they had two of the painted on dresses. It took them an hour, yes, an hour, to even figure out that they don’t have those dolls in stock. At first they were trying to say that those were the ones ordered, and that they never carried Flynn Rider. Hubby showed them the order email and then they finally looked, but it was nowhere to be found. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else, but beware that you’re likely not gonna get the one pictured. They said the best thing they can do is cancel the order and give a refund. What a waste of time.

  10. tharames

I bought one of these bikes last year and I’m sorry, but it is junk. It’s tiny and there are NO BRAKES!

  11. Cannielle

I ordered a set of batman sleeper but got superman instead.

  12. erin

Thank you Collin! I just used my points I’ve accumulated from your site’s posts throughout the year to get four bikes for Operation blessing and only spent $30. I know that they don’t have the best reviews but for a child that might not get a gift this year i think it’s an excellent deal!!!

    • Brittany

I know you mean well, but why would you want to give a gift that doesn’t have good reviews? Especially one that will be for a child who doesn’t have much. That would be really frustrating for one of your few toys to not work as it should.

      • Sara

I agree Brandy, the poor child will want to ride it really bad and won’t be able to 🙁

        • ish

Both brittany and sara, STFU, its the thought that counts, maybe both of u should go get a life or do a good deed and if u cant find one then maybe tell ur man to give it to u better next time haha

          • Brittany

Of course it’s the thought that counts, but if you are buying something for a child who has almost nothing, why would you buy them something that doesn’t work???? Then they still have nothing to play with. That was my point.

          • Vanessa

… Ok you sound really ignorant.

          • Denloc

Yes because you sound like someone who people should take seriously… I happen to agree with them. If you’re going to buy for a charity where kids will only be getting one or two gifts its nice to buy quality versus quantity. It IS a nice thought, just not a very practical one. We cancelled our order after seeing the reviews, our daughter’s in the recommended age range and no way would she be able to reach the pedals.

            • Sara

              thank you Denloc!!

          • Sara

LOLOL ISH…. THIS IS WHY I USE THIS SITE, TO HELP ME FIND GOOD DEALS TO SHOP FOR OTHERS. BUT JUST LIKE I DON’T BELIEVE IN GIVING MY LEFTOVERS, I DON’T AGREE IN TEASING A CHILD… ISH YOU SOUND SO GHETTO WITH YOUR (STFU, AND TELL MY MAN TO GIVE IT TO ME BETTER, (I’M ACTUALLY A LESBIAN)

    • Chrissy

      That’s awesome!!
A positive to this bike. This was my daughter’s 1st bike and she is short for her age. She grew into the bike well and learned how to ride a bike off of this bike. It’s a great beginner bike.

    • erin

It’s a shame that we have become a society of tearing people down instead of building people up. It might have not worked for everyone but there are some that it has worked for as with everything Collin posts on this site. Maybe some should think about the true meaning of Christmas and if that doesn’t work remember what your mom should have told you, If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything at all.

  13. Holly

We had a great experience with this style of bike. My three year old had no problem peddling this bike. She couldn’t go very fast of course, but that was nice for us when we let her practice on the road. Our last bike like this was stolen so I just ordered a new one.

  14. Jorrie

I’ve logged into my account but don’t see the member price. What am I doing wrong? These aren’t great bikes but perfectly functional for smaller kids. My son has one and still rides his and he is fine. He has a “regular” bike as we’ll but prefers this one. We also prefer it when we go riding in the park as it’s knight weight and we can easily tote them if they get tired of riding.

Trying to order one for daughter but not getting the lower price.

    • Emily

I’ve logged in and I’m not getting the member prices either. So frustrating!

  15. lauren

Can I have the 40 percent off code please?

  16. Lauren

I bought this as my daughters first bike and she loved it. I am trying to buy it and not seeing the member price and I have no surprise points. What am I doing wrong?

  17. acrowe949

I was able to get the bike for $19.99!

  18. Stephanie

I was still able to get the member price today! Because I saved $50 I had allotted for a new laptop for my daughter (thanks, Collin!) I used that $50 to buy 2 bikes to donate. I was able to pick them up at my local kmart. Thanks for this heads up!
