So I just left Wal-Mart and they said they won’t do the price match and the gift card. It’s one or the other.
Last time (for a different item) my store rejected the PM saying that they have a GC promo and I can’t combine 2 promos (aka I can’t get the PM and GC too). I know lots of people have success with it though. Is there something mentioned in their policy or somewhere using which I can make a case in my favor? TIA.
i just read their PM Policy and saw nothing regarding not being able to get the gift card along with a price match. I think this deal is a YMMV.
I just tried it at my Walmart, and they wouldnt do it. The manager said I can either do the gift card or the price match, but not both. Gonna try the other Walmart, just in case.
Well, they did it at the other Walmart, no problem. I guess its just up to each store manager. I was able to get two. Now, all I need is a few cheapy stocking stuffers, and Christmas is in thee bag!! Thank you, Colin! You made this Christmas super cheap!!
I tried this last week when it was $149 at Best Buy. My walmart wouldn’t do both the gift card and the price match. It’s not stated directly in their coupon policy, so it’s up to the store manager.
I think it is fair that they wont do both….but totally understand why people ask!

Our local Walmart wasn’t going to do the Ninja pm and gift card the other week but I told my husband to tell the manager that they gave my sister the pm and gift card on an ipod touch the day before and they gave my husband both for the ninja. It is up to the manager in each store.
My walmart let me do this. I got 2 and also was able to get the Mario ones with the preloaded game. I love my store manager!
My store has two very tiny signs taped to the bottom of the case where the ds’ are stored. Very tiny and about to fall off- so I would ask.

I actually did this deal online and the price of the DS comes up on the receipt as only 149. The gift card is $50 which is your $199 total.

I got the deal. I only asked for the Target price match and the register prompted for the gift card so it didn’t cause a problem. This was a similar deal last year when I price matched a power wheels and it prompted the gift card without me saying a word. Good luck

I just purchased the Nintendo 3DS XL and they did honor the Target price match and the $50.00 gift card. I did walk in with the Target ad and the cashier did have to call the manager to have it ok’d. She was having doubts until I showed them the deal (on your app!) Thanks Collin! 👍

I rushed over to my Walmart with the printed target ad, and after about 20 mins the asst manager okayed it. I didn’t mention the gift card but he did ring it in for me at the register. Thanks Colin!! My son has been asking for this and otherwise wouldn’t be getting it for Christmas. 😁
I was able to PM and get the $50 GC in the Newport News/ Hampton Roads area of Virigina! No problems whatsoever. Got 2, one Mario one with preloaded game. Had to call manager over to override PM, but was no problem as I had both ads open and ready! Thanks for the heads up on this deal. Had to get a few things and used the gift cards on the way out!
The key is to not mention the gift card to the cashier. Just ask for a PM. The register should automatically prompt for the gift card.
I totally agree! We didn’t mention it, just let the register do the talking and we were able to get two with no problem.

Update. I did manage to snag the deal, however when the guy in the Electronics department tried to ring me up after doing the Target price match, the register wouldn’t process the gift card. I went to customer service for them to ring it and they tried to give me a hard time claiming you can’t get the $50 gift card with the price match. I told them that the Associate in Electronics didn’t tell me that and pointed out they offer the savings catcher on the receipt and I would still be back if the price came in lower. They finally put it through with the price match and gave me the gift card.

I got the deal at Walmart in El Paso, TX. I agree that the key is to not mention the gift card at all. It’s a national deal and the clerk will be promoted automatically after the manager approves the price match. One Walmart did not allow me to price match the super Mario 2 bundled version of the 3DS which has a free game pre-installed, so I got a basic 3DS XL and DID get the gift card automatically. I stopped at another WM and was able to get the super Mario version with the free game this time which is a $30 value (the manager didn’t even look at the ad before approving…btw the bundled 3DS versions are the same price as the basic versions…$199). This is a great deal for $99.99! My nephew will be super excited!

My paper had 3 different Walmart ads, and the gift card offer was only listed in ONE of the ads, and it was not posted anywhere at my store…u can try purchasing one and if it doesn’t work out for you simply return it at customer service…no biggie.

We could not have afforded to get my son this without this deal – and even then my husband was a hard sell, but the benefits to kids with autism convinced him. We were able to get this deal then used the gift card to put towards a Keurig and got a $20 on that.
Best shopping trip savings for me so far. Went to a Walmart in town and they wouldn’t allow the price match with the gift card so I left and went to a town close by (5 miles away) and they did the deal with no problems. I got 2 with the PM and 2 $50 GC just a MGR was called to override the price match.
What cities are you all finding this deal in? I have checked a dozen weekly ads in St Petersburg, Largo & Tampa Fl and this DS deal is not listed. I called one of the stores also and they said they didn’t have this GC promotion going on.
I asked for a ad at customer service. Its a small 4or 6 page ad and smaller in size then normal. My walmart had a little tag with the 3ds xl with the gift card deal labeled. They should only ask for the target ad.

Worked for me in San Jose. I went to one Walmart and they would only let me price match one 3DS – had to drive to another one 20 minutes away because they sold out the following day! As others have said, the key thing is to not really mention the gift card… since it seems like the register prompts for it regardless of price match.
Kinda bummed I wasn’t able to get one of the bundle packs that had Mario Kart preloaded, but I’ll take what I can get!

Did the deal here in Chicago on Southside, manager price matched and machine prompted him for $50 GC, no issues. So, bought a 2nd DSI, manger price matched, well this time i used the 1st GC to help pay for the 2nd purchase now my total was $99.99oop and received $50GC like i should have. So, 1st order was $149.99oop, 2nd order was $99.99oop walked away with $50GC.

Just went over to Walmart and got this in bowling Green Kentucky. When the register prompted for the gift card they said I couldn’t have it with the “sale” price. They tried to override it but the register would not allow them to so they ended up giving it to me. 🙂
