How did you know I was looking for a bargain on yogurt makers? Thank you so much! ๐Ÿ˜€

A crockpot works great for yogurt making, too. Super easy and great results. Lots of recipes via Google. My favorite is titled “lactobacillus love”.

I have this yogurt maker and I like it but there are a few quirks. Like if you don’t cover it with a paper towel or cloth before putting the lid on, condensation leaves water on top of your yogurt. Also, it’s not at all like store bought yogurt. Even sweetened my kids don’t like it. I love it with granola and fresh berries!

    • Kristina

I do not have the condensation problem at all with mine.

I own this and it works great. You don’t have to use the jars. That thrill quickly wore off for me. Now I make my yogurt in a big bowl and it’s perfect every time!!

So when you use a big bowl, you just put it in the maker with no top on? Comes out ok? I have this but all but one of the containers it came with smashed;(haven’t used it Bc of this!

I own this yogurt maker and love it. Home made yogurt tastes soo good and it’s way cheaper than buying it at the store.. plus I can sweeten it however I like. I got mine new for $15 with FS on ebay!

Ladies that are using this machine… Do you have to buy the yogurt starter or can you just mix milk with store bought yogurt and pour it into these jars? Thanks so much!

    • Angi

you can use store bought yogurt as your starter. you just have to make sure it is the freshest it can be. get the one with the furthest expiration date. you can then use the yogurt you make as the next starter.
