   1 st checked bag will be charged $25, 2nd checked bag will be charged $35. Getting to LAX will be more than flight to Hawaii.

  Yes! If you want to go do it! Maui is truly the best place and you can find awesome places to stay through airBnB or VRBO. We’ve done this several times and have had wonderful experiences each time. Worth checking out 🙂

   On a related note, my daughter had a very bad experience with Spirit Airlines yesterday. A call to customer service at Spirit got her nowhere. Does anyone have suggestions as to how to register a complaint that will result in action?? (By the way, my son has flown Hawaiian Air, and his trips have gone well.)

  spirit airlines is the worst I rather paid the full price. about 2 yrs ago I flew on spirit to Jamaica .The worst EXPERIENCE ever. Jamaica was a blast tho 🙂 Love the Island. But never again on spirit.

  Thanks for your concern. It’s a long story. My daughter has been advised to file a complaint with the Department of Transportation which she will be doing. An employee at the airport also suggested that she contact the local media, as apparently there have been a lot of complaints. It was also pointed out to her that Spirit Airlines has a “D” rating with the Better Business Bureau, so it was probably a mistake to book a flight through them in the first place.

    I couldn’t find the deal on their website. I assumed we have to fly out of LA on February 17th, 18th, 24th and leave Maui March 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th? I tried those dates and they are full price. Bummer!
