My husband ordered something in the morning at work by the time he was home it had already been delivered! Awesome!
I think everyone fails to see how this will impact the sale price over time. Free is never really free. Any business owner knows that shipping costs are just padded into the final sales price. Yay.. Price increase… Sigh
How can they even do that???????
I know people that work at Amazon warehouses and it is possible because they work them like crazy! There’s a certain amount of time they have to pull the item and get it to the next person to package and so on. usually of the person isn’t good enough for the job they will get fired.
Many times when I order from them u get different people delivering. They work with ups, FedEx, and I think their own personal employees. I seen random people stop at my house and come to my porch with a scanner. It took me a couple of time to realize it was Amazon. I get 2 day free shipping on all my items because of prime. Sometimes even 1 day delivery. I have 2 warehouses within 15 miles.
This service isn’t available near me though, I am in va so I am guessing they are only working with cities were individuals would only focus on delivering those same day packages or they using the machine that came out on the news.
The random people, are most likey Ontrac which is not from Amazon. It’s a small, more local delivery company..nothing fancy, they use their own cars. Ontrac is nationwide, however they work from your state or the surrounding ones that is close to the warehouse your delivery comes from.
Sounds right. I think I read that name out of one of the persons shirt. Never hear of them though but good info. Thanks
I know right??!
YAY BALTIMORE!!!
WOOHOO!
woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s true! Saw the mailman delivering last Sunday and he said it was for Amazon. Just ordered something and it’s coming TODAY! Just make sure you have Prime AND over $35.
bring on the drones!!!! LMAO
Seriously not Chicago? I think I can live with next day or 2-day shipping. I am sure we will be next on the list! 🙂
Yay they have this in San Diego. Amazon is seriously revolutionizing online buying. Plus this will be wonderful and generate business for the postal service.
Right in-between LA and San Diego and don’t qualify. Whaaaa!!
Not to mention there is a warehouse not too far from me…
Oh Newport Beach says it qualified.. so some parts of Orange County is supported. Strange not all the cities in between
I’m in Indiana and we have an Amazon distribution center here, hence same day delivery for us!!
I live in Indy too and if I order something in the morning I typically get it by dinner time. Pretty sweet!!
Cool and crazy….Hope they add more cities soon.
It said my zip code did not qualify even though I live in DFW AND I have an Amazon distribution center right down the street from me! Okay….
I qualified in the 76244 zip (NFW/Keller). I know I have a distribution center not too far from me too.
That is crazy! I live just across 35 from Keller in Haslet where the distribution center is!
Oh wow, you’re even closer than me. How strange.
I live 5 minutes south of a massive amazon warehouse and dont get it but people who live 5 minutes north of the same warehouse DO thats crazy
That’s pretty amazing. Is this is limited time thing?
Unfortunately, even though I am in Boston, I cannot get same day delivery. Odd.
I hope that this doesn’t increase the prime membership fee again. I’m very rural and I’m barely getting my 2day stuff on time thanks to a lazy crew of UPS drivers in my area. And the 2-day shipping during the winter months is unheard of where I live…again, due to the laziness of the UPS drivers. FedEx, on the other hand, rocks! I’ve called the local UPS DC in Williamsport, PA and they don’t care. After calling amazon, they have mine set to a USPS delivery in addition to the major carriers.
And I thought my Prime was already fast enough! Can’t wait to see if they will get this in Chicago soon.
This is somewhat aggravating. I’m a prime member and have been for a while now. Prime has always been my go to for anything I need for baby, household, personal care, etc. Over the past few month’s I have slowly seen items that i order on a regular basis be moved to prime pantry. Prime pantry charges $5.99 shipping for a box of items. When ordering multiple items from prime i have always selected to ship everything together instead of shipping each item as soon as it was ready. I’m a little disappointed that when I need to order a box of diapers or some laundry detergent because I’m almost out and have no plans of running out to the store with in two days. I would just hop on amazon and have it shipped, but now amazon has moved a lot of these things to pantry and want to charge me $5.99 shipping charge. Free 2 day shipping is the sole reason I signed up for prime. 🙁 I’m not a fan of change especially when those changes effect something I have already paid for. :/
