   oh sure, they day after my new freezer from Lowe’s gets delivered that i paid a little more for and isn’t as highly rated….lol #storyofmylife

   This is a great freezer! Smaller but holds a great deal. We got it for storing breast milk when I was pumping.

   Does anyone have issues with the manual defrost? How often do you have to do it and where do you put all the items when you have to defrost? Thinking about getting an auto – defrost but also heard it defrosting items in the freezer… TIA for any tips!

  ive had several chest freezers over the years and i have never ever defrosted one….most of them are still running somewhere….the one i have is at least 15 years old and its never been defrosted. my nan had moved into a much smaller house so she traded this larger one for the smaller one i had. the smaller one is over 10 years old and again never defrosted. now my in laws but one just under 2 years ago and it has not been defrosted. sometimes a bit of ice will build up along the lid but thats almost always bc it didnt shut tight. other then that i get some pieces that form on the sides but never enough to cut into storage or that would have to be removed. i dont know what i would do without our chest freezer. its a big investment to some, i was lucky to be given mine, but its worth it!! when we see something we really like, you cant have enough room. a local discount store has tgifridays bacon cheese fries for $1.29…they are only on sale at weis for $3.79!!! so we bought 14 boxes and that didn’t even put a dent in our storage. a huge bonus for me, is our freezer is the same height as my counter tops, so i keep it up against the end of the counter/cabinet and that gives me an extra 4′ wide work space!!!!! i will soley use the freezer top as my work area. i can clean it quick and easily control our cats from jumping up and nosing!
