Will the balance bike be too small for a tall 3 year old?

    • Pam

Yes, I would probably say so. My 3 year old started on a 16 inch bike with really good training wheels. Paid a little extra for them, but they’re solid and she’s confident on the bike.

I was thinking of a balance bike- but it’s for a tall 4 yr old. Thanks for the info, I think I’ll pass on it.

I had someone rip off the entire pedaling component on a cheap used bike. We used it as a balance bike. Or even do it with a bike your child has outgrown

Save your money. Buy the appropriately sized bike for your child and just remove the pedals til he/she gets the hang of coasting.

I have question , is there any kind of child’s 12″ bike that converts to 16″ later ? Tia.

When my son was 3 we bought him the 16 inch bike it was perfect had training wheels and lasted years. Dont waste your money on the 12 inch

These are perfect for your average size three year old 🙂 at 2 and a half my kiddo is a little small. It has Rubber wheels! Great price for that on a balance bike! See if there is a BMX track by your home. They often have balance bike races for the littles 🙂

Balance bikes are amazing! My kids were both riding bikes without training wheels by ages 3 and 4 because they were aways cruising around on their balance bike!

Where do I get the 10 off for using my discover cash back?

We have been looking for a Strider or a balance bike. Now my three year old can go to the BMX track with his brother. Yes, it won’t last long, but the size makes it easy to handle. Both him and his brother are tall for their ages. Bikes that are too big for a kid, really makes it harder for them to learn. My oldest was off training wheels by four, but still used a 12 inch bike for quite some time. Easier to lay skid marks. Now he races BMX. Thanks for posting this deal.

Bought this exact bike back in April for my daughters 3rd birthday. Fit her great. This is a quality made bike with rubber tires and nice frame and seat. Good deal.
