I just went to Lowes and got this deal and a $5 rebate printed out my paint and the cashier said the paint qualified! So I got 2 paints for $23 after rebate.

    • CarlyB

      Gallons?

    • Nancy D

Amanda, which paint did you purchase that qualified? Thanks in advance…:)

      • Amanda

I bought 2 gallon (118fl oz) semigloss HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams Ovation Interior

Does anyone know if Lowe’s will add tint later on and just buy the paint now? This Is a very good deal, and there are always walls to paint😉

    • ALmom

Yes, they will. We did that when we first moved to our house. You just have to keep your receipt and show them the cans at the CS desk when you go back. They put a sticker on them saying they have been paid for already.

      • riss

        Thank you!

    • Sev

Yes. Lowe’s can add tint later, when you are ready. I have done it many times.

      • Beth

Awesome!!! I’m going to order some this weekend. Need to paint several rooms in our house & love that I can wait to tint until later. Thanks, Collin!!!

        • Darla

Be careful…I think this deal is only good for today..July 31

    • Ketsy

Please help. I want to buy it as well but don’t know which kind of paint to get. Its for inside the house. TIA

  3. Shey

The timing for this could not have been better. We just had a painter over last night to give us an estimate for painting a good 3/4 of our interior home. WAHOOO and thank you!!!

    • nicolegammeter

      You’re welcome! 🙂

  4. Sondra

Does anyone have any input on the different viscosity levels of paint. There are 3 for each kind. I understand it’s the thickness of it, but is one better than the other or is it more for what your project is?

    • Kara

They always say that it depends on your project but flat and satin always come out feeling rough to me.

    • Tara

My go to is always an eggshell finish. Eggshell wipes down well. I like a satin finish for bathrooms and bedrooms. When your done painting for the day, try wrapping your brush or roller in plastic wrap and popping it in the freezer overnight. The next day you can let it thaw outside or with a hair dryer. Works perfectly and you don’t have to worry about rinsing out your brushes at the end of the day.

  5. Star

Has anyone ever used this paint before?

  6. S.

I have a $5 off $25 Lowe’s purchase and a $10 off $50 Lowe’s purchase. Would love to trade for Kohl’s $ off. Thanks! Only good through today and they should work on the paint online, I checked. 🙂 Please e-mail S. at happilyexpecting22@gmail.com if interested.

  7. Pat

I just bought a can yesterday! Oh well, I need more anyway for rental home painting.
I bought the Ovation eggshell yesterday and it was very nice. From my research, comparing to the paint carried in the Sherwin Williams stores, the Showcase = Duration and the Ovation = Superpaint. Formulas are the same.

  8. 🐮

Does anyone know the paint covers wall paper or need a primer first. Thanks happy paintin.

    • Pat

It is labeled paint & primer in one

    • Tara

You really can’t cover wallpaper with paint. It runs and bleeds and other yucky stuff. Steaming it off is best but if you absolutely have to paint over it try sealing it first. You can ask at the paint dept for a good sealer. Just my two cents after many painting fails.

    • nicolegammeter

      Thanks! I added it! 🙂

  9. 🐮

    Thanks Pat.

  10. Cassandane

Perfect! I need some flat finish to make my own chalk paint 😉

  11. Sam

I really need to change my color because when my house was built i chose the dark tan color. Now the space looks so closed up. I am trying to decide what kind of paint to use for high ceiling. I have flat finish at the moment which i do not like.

Any paint colors tips and what kind of paint i should use for my open space, are welcome. Thank you in advance.

    • Shayna

There is a color I just painted my entire living spaces with. I Love it!!! It’s called “Revere Pewter” by Benjamin Moore. It’s a grey-beige, depending on the light/time of day. You can take the name to Lowes and they will look it up and match it for you.

      • Cassandane

Colonnade Gray is the Sherwin Williams rival to Revere Pewter, without the greenish tint

  12. Pat

I don’t believe the rebate will be honored….
    Here’s the wording I found:
“No limit per household, but offer can’t be combined with any other offer,
promotion, rebate, discount, or coupon, including by way illustration, not
limited to any quotes, or volume or special pricing discounts”

  13. 🐮

After reading your post on here. Sounds pretty good THANKS. Does it onlytake one coat.

  14. Sheila

I bought 4 gallons of paint. Gave me 50% off on Showcase and Ovation. Advertising in store did not mention Ovation only. Just Sherwin Williams HGTV. I think the rebate will be honored as it did print out the rebate and it states that my items were qualified for rebate. Final cost including rebate $54! Great deal!

    • Pat

I hope so! I’ll give it a try. I’m wondering now if multiple gallons in one purchase will get multiple rebates, or if it’s just one rebate per receipt…

      • Sheila

You have choice for rebate: online or by mail. I chose online. It was so easy! Just follow instructions on the receipt they give you. Only have to enter 4 lines of numbers. That is it! One rebate for all.

        • Sheila

$5 rebate per can. I’m expecting to get $20 total in rebate.

        • mamasweetpea

I’m hoping it does qualify. Rebate form did not print out with my purchase. I bought 4 Ovation paints (1 semi-gloss and 3 eggshell). Not sure why it’s printing for some and not for others. anyhow, just using my regular receipt info and inputting it online to see if it works.

  15. shirro

I bought 2 gallons of paint and they told me I could tint it later in the week. You just have to make sure you choose the right base. Ex. White, deep base or ultra base.

  16. Cathy B

I just bought 4 gallons online, and there is also an online rebate form. This is a great deal! Thanks Collin!!! 🙂

  17. Jessie

Hi, I just moved and I would love to paint our bedrooms but I’ve never painted anything before. I’m sorry for the silly question but what is it to tint paint? So if I’m unsure of the color I want I should buy white? Then tint? I’m so confused. Any help would be appreciated.

    • K

Tint means to add color. You can buy the cans off the shelf “un tinted” then once you decide a color take it back in and they will mix it.

  18. K

Bought 14 cans of semi gloss interior. No rebate form printed out. I wonder if the ones that are getting it have the my lowes card? I did use a 10% off so maybe that’s why. Total cost w tax $221.xx.

    • Amanda

I got it, and I did not have a my lowes card. I did not use a coupon though

    • Joni

I just bought the ovation in eggshell and the rebate printed. No lowe’s card.

    • riss

I bought mine online, no mention of rebate. We’ll see if I get a rebate form tomorrow when I pick it up.
But, I went to the Lowe’s rebate center and there’s a form that you download. And it matches the item number. So if I don’t get a rebate with the receipt tomorrow, I will download the form and try it.

  19. sabrina

I was going to buy but reviews are pretty bad! I’d rather spend the money for a better paint and do less work/painting!!

  20. Pat

I just bought 26 gallons total! We have rental homes so we do quite a bit of painting. Hope this lasts a good while!
The final price (IF the rebates go through…) after a 7% discount for using the Lowes Account’s Receivable card (5% everyday + an extra 2% for paying in full each month) the total is ~$8.50/gallon!
If the rumors are true, the same paint sells at SW for $55+ So even if the rebate falls through, I’m happy.

    • Suzyq

This paint sells for $30 at SW I was just there yesterday. They also have super paint which sells for $55. This is their cheaper version of super paint but I’m not sure how the quality compares

      • Patty

        Ovation = Superpaint
This is based on the product data sheets and MSDS sheets, and confirmed by numerous professionals in paint talk and contracter forums.
Sherwin Williams will tell a different story… That the Ovation is the lower quality, but the truth is in the data sheets. MSDS do not lie.
The paint contracters are ticked off because they no longer have an advantage price-wise. The discount they get on Superpaint brings it down to an equivalent price to the Ovation.
I did not realize that SW is selling the Ovation in their stores as well. That’s an interesting twist.

  21. Amy

Make sure you get the correct gallon of “ovation”. I saw the signs at the store and it didn’t say that was specifically the gallons that qualified. So I got 10 gallons of the “showroom ” because I wanted to get the better paint. Well they rang me up at almost $400!! They were nice enough to honor the paint at the same price as the promotion.

  22. mike

how do i get mail in 5 dollar rebate form ?

  23. mamasweetpea08

i tried submitting the rebate even though it did not print out on the registers for me during the promotion period. unfortunately, I received mail back stating that my purchase does not qualify for the rebate due to the other promotion I took advantage of (this one day buy 1 get 1 sale). 🙁 still a good deal just wished rebate was stackable with the sale
