Out of stock. But how IN THE WORLD is a child supposed to not fall and hurt themselves on this thing???

    • Erin

These are so they learn to coast and maintain their balance before adding pedaling. Think of every other ride-on toy where a child propels him- or herself with the feet. Same concept. Kids don’t fall; they have a leg on each side to catch themselves. That said, these things are totally unnecessary. Just buy a regular bike in your child’s size and remove the pedals. Don’t worry about the chain or gears; since kids are balancing, their feet and legs are well out of the way. Once kids master balancing and coasting, add the pedals, and voila!, they are able to ride two wheelers.

I have seen 18 month olds cruse on these. My neighbors son is almost 3 & will ride it all day. πŸ™‚ balance bikes are awesome. Youtube some videos.

    • Arianne

The way Americans teach their children to ride bikes (training wheels) is FAR less effective than to learn to balance first. I’m a mother of three, my first son didn’t learn to ride until he was 6 because we used training wheels. My second son, we were living in Germany at the time, used their method…balance bikes, and he was riding a two wheeled bike like an EXPERT by the time he was three. These are amazing and it makes so much sense, in hindsight, to teach a child to BALANCE before pedaling! We’ll def use this method with our youngest!

      • Jennifer

I completely agree, Arianne!! We had the same experience with our boys. It is crazy to see how easy it is for a kid to learn to ride a bike after perfecting the balance bike.

      • Carla

I think it depends on your child. My son has been using this balance bike for a while and it hasn’t helped one bit

      • Erin

The concept is amazing but balance bikes themselves are entirely unnecessary. We taught a four year old (or rather, he taught himself) to ride a two wheeler minus the pedals over a weekend–and it would have been quicker if he hadn’t initially refused to ride it because there were no pedals. Woulda been kicking myself if I had paid for a balance bike for only three days then had to immediately buy a real bike. It also enabled us to invest more in a nicer aluminum bike for our second child, which isn’t totally necessary, but is much sturdier/well-built than those character-themed ones sold at TRU and Target. Highly recommend balancing rather than training wheels, but buying a balance bike per se isn’t necessary.

    • Carla

My 4 yr old uses this bike at therapy and it’s a disaster. He falls to the side and hurts himself constantly. No gliding/coasting. He just falls over.

OOS to be shipped and Free Pick up not available

My nephew got one and it made no sense whatsoever he just sat on it and scooted around. The only way they could really have fun on it would be going down hill and that would be pretty dangerous. They ended up taking it back because it was kind of useless. I personally wouldn’t recommend them but someone else may like them you never know πŸ™‚

    • Erin

Yes, it takes most kids a few days to get the hang of coasting and balancing, and then they are ready for two wheelers (without training wheels), so balance bikes do seem kinda pointless to me, too.

    • Arianne

You didn’t give it enough time. The point is to learn to balance before pedaling. It’s actually quite genius. European countries use balance bikes to teach their children to ride two wheeled bikes. Training wheels are actually counter intuitive. My son used a balance bike when he was two and was riding a two wheeled bike by three. Our American neighbors were shocked!

  4. Jessica

I checked a bunch of zip codes and everywhere is OOS, killer deal if someone is lucky enough to find one!

    πŸ™ out of stock.

  9. Just Me

I’ve seen other people post: just get a regular bike and take off the peddles and when they can balance add them back on

  10. LeLee

My now 6 yr old has this bike, when he was 3-4 and he loved it! He could control how fast he went with his feet and his balance really improved. It took him agwne to learn how to pedal, He took off on a real bike with no training wheels early this spring like a champ!

  11. Melinda

I got one. Thanks! (Zip 70471)

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh awesome! Glad to hear it! πŸ™‚

    • Trish

Melinda, that’s my area. Did you get it from the Covington store? Seems sold out now.

  12. Alex

I got one!! Thanks!! These are very popular in Europe. People say they help children learn how to ride a bike because they are hardest part is staying balanced. And this bike helps train little ones how to balance without needing to focus on pedals

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yay! Glad you got one too!

  13. Alexis

Got the last one at my store ! Great deal!

    • Alexis

Woke up to an order cancellation. πŸ™

  14. Michele

    one left in woodbury, mn

  15. Kat

Got one in the Houston suburbs for pickup! 77339. They seem to be available in quite a few Texas cities. My LO is only 20 months but I couldn’t pass this up, thanks Collin!!

  16. TK

My store in Clarksville IN has them available for shipping & in store pick up on Oct 5th but they aren’t $15……they are $69 before tax

  17. Betsy

Got one!!! Colin we have one for our three year old and he LOVES it!! Everywhere we go people ask about it! He can ride a real bike now and people are so impressed. I recommend a balance bike to everyone because it builds confidence and makes transitioning to a traditional bike SO easy!! Thanks for this great deal, I am adding this to our gift closet:-)

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

That’s great to hear! Thanks for the feedback! πŸ™‚

  18. ali

There is one left in Sanford, FL if anyone wants it!

  19. Lauren

Got one in upstate SC!!!! Thanks!! This will be perfect for my little guy for Christmas! We were playing with some yesterday!

  20. Nicole

We love this bike. My 3 yr old can almost ride a standard bike without training wheels because of the balance bike. He still rides this one too for fun.

  21. Cara

I haven’t seen any kids using training wheels in years — these bikes work SO well for teaching them to balance first and then they transition right to a regular two wheeler. My neighbor’s daughter was riding a 2 wheeler at 2.5 because of this and my 5 year old transitioned to a 2 wheeler right away as well.
They’re absolutely fantastic and this is a great deal!

  22. Amanda

I got two! One for my son and another for the gift closet!

  23. Ang

Darn none of the stores by us have it available. I want one so bad. πŸ™ my boy turned 2 last week and we went to 6 different stores looking for a balance bike. The cheapest one was $85 so this is a great deal.

    • Melissa

Check your local FB community yard sale page. That’s where I got one for a good deal.

  24. Betsy

    Just scored two…thank you!!!!

  25. Babzko

My husband actually took the pedals and the chain off of my daughter’s bike that she has outgrew. She loves it!

  26. Fordmommy

Thanks so much for this awesome deal! I’ve never tried one of these but my 5 year old is learning to ride a bike now. I hope this helps!

  27. Brianna

Ordered one, but my order was cancelled. 😒

    • Erica

Go to the actual store and check mine was cancelled from several stores went to one of them had 4 in stock ! Employees just don’t care !

  28. megan a

Just picked mine up from the store and box look liked it had been through a hurricane! Was going to give as a gift but with box in such horrible shape I will have to build it myself and put a bow on it:)

    • Ashley

As a mom of 3 boys who spends quite a lot of time putting together gifts they get I think the lucky little one who gets this from you is going to have even happier parents to not have to put it together πŸ˜‰ its always the gift that needs to be put together that the kids want to play with first Haha!

  29. Erica

I ordered from a couple Walmarts near me only to have my order cancelled again and again , I went to one of the stores and they had 4 in stock!!! Check your local stores I think employees are to lazy to look!

  30. merriah

    They’re $39.97 now πŸ™
