Hope they have one big enough for my Great Dane!!!!

    • Emily

They don’t. My lab’s paw didn’t fit. I had to take it out of the tin when we got home and redo it on a paper plate. My little dog’s paw worked just fine.

I have an Otterhound (they have very large paws) and it worked for her. You may have to finesse it a bit but it should be fine.

I can’t get my dog in through the door before she starts freaking out. Walks are fine. Going into buildings is what she hates. I wish I could. And my other dog doesn’t enjoy the car. But the one who doesn’t go into buildings is great in the car lol

    • Amanda

Lol my dog gets car sick. I feel your pain.

    • Taylor

My problem is that my dogs loves all that too much so he gets really over excited and pierces ear drums with his high pitched barks so they let me take the kit home and do it myself last year 🙂 I’m sure if you went it without your dog and asked, they would be happy to let you do the same

    Nothing for cats?

You could always call and ask

I have cats and dogs. While it seems that cats usually get shafted, I am thinking how most cats would not want to participate. Most of mine do not like their paws touched 🙂

I did paw print impressions of both of my cats & my LO last Christmas. I used the crayola model magic modeling clay because it’s soft & it’s very lightweight so I could turn them into ornaments. Funny thing was my lo was harder than my cats!

Hit submit too soon…I desensitized my cats to paw touching from the time I adopted them so that I wouldn’t have problems clipping their claws later on. (Which also had the added benefit of allowing me to get cute little paw impression Christmas ornaments!)

I started out slow & at first I only touched their paws with one of their wand toys, then I touched with my hands, then after a time I would hold their paw in my hand & gently press to extend their claws. My younger cat took longer than my older (older one was super easy & I could cut his claws within a month, the little guy took a full year!). But now I can touch, hold & clip without problems.

Anyway, this long drawn out explanation is to say tht if you want to try you most likely can still get your kitties used to having their paws touched (assuming no previous trauma to their paws) & maybe eventually you could get your paw impressions:)

I wish I could do that to my Pug. They are notorious for not liking their feet touched. 🙁

Thanks so much!! I texted my daughter about this (sent her link to H2S) and she’s taking in Sammy dog. She’s excited because she has one of our other dog (Bo), but had it done before he was cremated. He died just a couple of months ago from cancer so this will be a great healing experience for the whole family. Again, thank you sooooo much.

    • irene

We got one in terra cotta before our Ollie was cremated. It’s a nice momento to have.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You are so welcome Jenn! So sorry for your loss.

Nice freebie! I paid $30 for a double frame kit for my dog.

  7. Julie

This is a really nice thing. When my dog passed away, the vet made one for my family and sent it to me with a condolence card that they all signed. So sweet of them and this is great for those of you who have a dog. 🙂

    • Kayla

At the animal hospital I worked at we did this little clay paw prints for each animal we put down. The owners always appreciated them! One vet tech would put in a lot of effort and added clay flowers, borders, etc – really made them a piece of art! When I move to a new city I’m making sure the vet practice I go to does something like this.

      • Sidelle Stone

Now that is beyond SWEET! Just had to put my shepherd mix down May 7 🙁

  8. linapie

Hi. I’m thinking of taking my dog in. Does anyone have any pictures or how does this look? Is it worth the drive?

  9. Sidelle Stone

Ridiculous! I went Early 1st inline w my dog just having had her stitches cut the day before from major surgery! They were LATE & the 1st people I asked had NO IDEA! What a Circus & then it’s for CATS or SMALL Dogs! SERIOUSLY WASTE MY TIME & make my Dog sit thru that for a tiny thing that wouldn’t fit my Shepherd! NOT HAPPY not to mention the dogs trying to fight.

  10. Sam

I got one but mine didnt come with any instructions only a blank sheet of paper how do i make my paw impression?
