While I haven’t used this particular machine, I can say that Brother sewing machines in general are fantastic! My most recent one was a refurbished model I got off of Amazon, and it turned out 15 queen-size quilts last year, as well as lots of other smaller sewing projects. I recently upgraded to a fancier model, but loved my Brother so much that I got another from their line. The new machine has also been a dream to work with.

This is a fantastic machine and would be an AMAZING Christmas gift for anyone who is a new sewer (I say new, because an experienced sewer might have a nice machine they already have which they might love).

Great price. 125 dollars on walmart.com for same machine. Walmart does however have a Brother that I liked more for 137.00 with almost 1500 reviews average rating 4.5 stars. I like tech lol but if you don’t and are interested in a new machine thus looks great with super reviews. I still may get this one as it would probably last longer without the computer. I’m a newbie and a crafter wanna be but I might have to give this a try.

Thank you everyone for your comments..I’m actually looking for a sewing machine for my mom and this might be a good buy..She’s an experienced sewer but haven’t had a machine in years..She’s used to using Singer..How would you compare the two name brands..Is this a buy I should invest in? Any advice would be very appreciated! 🙂
My “hubby” is getting me a sewing machine for Christmas (read: I’m finding a sewing machine and buying it and it’s his gift to me). Is this one of the better deals we’ll see for a good advanced-beginner (I used to dabble in sewing but it’s been YEARS) or will black-Friday have comparable/better deals do you think?
I’ve been wanting to get a basic sewing machine forever to fix my kids’ clothes (unraveling seams, holes, etc.) I’m a beginner and don’t want anything that is going to frustrate me. Is this a good fit? And a good price? Could I find a cheaper one that would do an occasional patch job or if I go any cheaper would that just mean extra aggravation?
