Thank you SO much! I’ve been wondering if I should upgrade my KitchenAid…and now I did! I appreciate the heads up! Have a great day!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

So glad you could score a new one Kari! You are very welcome! 😀

This is a good deal… 5 years ago, my husband bought it for me, which was over $ 500. Anyway, I broke it in 2 years by using the dough hook to make bagels. Don’t use for kneading low hydration dough!!! even I don’t recommend for making bread. close to 80% hydration dough will be fine. It is not strong enough.
Otherwise, this mixer will last longer.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thanks for the tip!

I have a 20 year old KA classic (the basic model) and have had no trouble kneading any bread dough in mine and do it fairly regularly. A year ago I looked at upgrading to a larger one since I have a big family, but found they aren’t built the same anymore. I purchased two different mixers, both the same model (Artisan one from Kohls and Macys). My attachment for shredding completely stopped both mixers when I tried to shred cheese while my older, and less powerful model, sped up to meet the demand of the load on the motor. Obviously both machines went back. Also worth noting, my mom has the same model as I do, but hers in nearly 40 years old and she has had no trouble either. Ours are both made in the USA and I think it just comes down to the quality used to be a lot better than it is today, hence why they go on sale so cheaply. When I got mine, they never went on sale -it was one of the things that was always excluded from sales, but worth the premium price you paid. I’d still like a larger capacity mixer, but will stick with my machine because it really seems far superior.

From the research I’ve done the professional models (not the artisans) have more power and the gears are metal. The artisans gears are plastic and tend to burn out much more quickly.

  3. Jennifer

ok could someone tell me if this is a better deal than the kohls one?

    • Elen

If you are not a kohls shopper I think it is because you don’t have to wait for a rebate to make it that price.

If you shop at kohls often then maybe better bye there because you get their kohls cash. And right now it’s $15 for every $50.

      • Jc

        “buy” not “bye”

    • P

      I think this mixer is $399 on Black Friday at Kohl’s. $399-15% off = $339- $90 Kohl’s cash= $249. This is a better deal.

  4. Justine

I believe this one is a better mixer than the one kohls has for sale. Also its less out of pocket up front. Another thing… it let me use my 10% wishlist code! making it around $175 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sweet deal Justine! Thanks for sharing!

  5. Jen

Used both codes and mine is not coming to the $194.99. Am I doing something wrong?

    • Justine

it could be adding the tax, does it say $55 off?

    • Nicole

I’m having the same issues and it’s saying, estimated tax: not yet calculated. It does say $55 off.

  6. Justine

OHH… but if you use ebates with kohls, since its 8% back right now. you’ll get around $20 back.

  7. deb

Is the 50.00 rebate for Kohls only?

    • P

The rebate is for authorized Kitchenaid retailers. Target is one of the exclusions.

      • deb

        Thank-You!

I AM SO EXCITED, I HAVE BEEN WAITING TO PURCHASE A PROFESSIONAL KITCHEN AID MIXER. FIRST DAY OF VACATION LUCKED UP….I ORDERED THE RED ONE. HERE IN NEW ORLEANS PAID 212.00

  9. Michelle

The kitchen aid website says this model is discontinued. Not sure if that should matter though…I’m not a huge Kohls shopper so I’m still on the fence about which place I should get it. Really want a mixer this year.

  10. gg

This was an EXCELLENT deal! I paid $179 by stacking the two codes above, the wish list code, and Redcard! Thank You!

  11. Meena

Thank you Collin & fellow Hip2Savers. I used the two codes, wishlist code, redcard and got it for $176. Have been wanting a stand mixer forever and happy to get one at last.

  12. Nicole

I put in both codes and this is what my check out looks like:
    subtotal:$249.99
    1 item(s)
    discounts:-$55.00
save 20% with code KITCHEN today only
spend $50 save $5 on select
    estimated shipping:
    FREE
    free standard shipping
    estimated tax: not yet calculated
    your total: $208.64
    you saved $55.00

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Somehow even though it says the tax is not yet calculated it seems it may be applied but not showing. When you take off the 20% and then the $5 it is $194.99. Hope that helps!

  13. joannem

Better deal at kohl’s on this, the artisan is reg. $349.99 with code NOV15 it brings it down to $297.99, there is a $50 rebate, bringing it to $247.99. Plus the special $15 kohl’s cash for every $50 spent which is calculated before rebate, so add $2.51 to your order to bring it up to $300 before rebate and that gives you $90 kohl’s cash. Join their yes2you rewards and receive $15 in rewards!!! Shipping is free but you’ll have to pay shipping surcharge of $7.50.
So you pay $247.99 after rebate plus you get $90 kohl’s cash and $15 in yes2you rewards! !!! Awesome deal!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Sweet deal! Thanks for sharing!

    • Allie

This is not the artisan mixer. It’s the professional. It’s got more power than the artisan.

  14. Jen

Thank you so much I have wanted this mixer for years but I just couldn’t spend that kind of money when the mixer I have while old is still functioning. With the sale, the 20% (KITCHEN), the Spend $50 save $5, 10% wish list and 5% red card my total was$179.54. You truly just made my day!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome!

  15. Emily D

How do you add something to the wish list and where is the wish list

  16. Suzanne

thanks Collin. I really appreciate all the comments here. I was super close to getting the Classic at Kohl’s, but on this forum (and confirmed thru further research) I learned that the Professional has steel, not plastic, gears. SO the extra cost was worth it to me!
For those having trouble w/ the wish list app. I was never able to add the mixer (kept getting errors), but when I went to the “10% promo code” button, it gave me a code to use.
