I’ve never used trac phone before. I really appreciate you posting the link for the fees, but I’m wondering… It kind of looks to me like you have to buy your voice/text/data separately. I bought LG optimus fuel last year from Kmart for $10. You don’t need to activate the phone with tracfone to use wi-fi only. Unless you want to use it to text/talk then they have really cheap plans. My kids were playing w/ them for a few months before I activated the phone w/ tracfone. I bought the 60 minutes/90 days service which triple w/ smart phone to get 180 min/180 text/&data free. My daughter doesn’t use it to talk/text that much so about $7/month is great. I switch my service from at&t to tracfone a few months ago, my plan is 120 min/90 days which triple to 360 min talk/text/data. I’m very happy w/ the service.
I don’t tend to use my phone a lot, so I have gone to using Tracfones exclusively and this has saved me a ton of money! I always buy them through HSN (QVC has them, too) because they have packages (usually around every 3-4 months) where the phone is the Today’s Special and you get the phone plus 1200 minutes/1200 texts/1200 mb data, good for 1 year. You can buy additional time, etc. at their website if you need more. The deals are always for triple minutes (200 becomes 600, for example). This meets my needs and I use wi-fi whenever and wherever possible.

Do you need to activate these on a plan or can you just run wifi apps on them?
Im taking a chance you can just run Wi-Fi on this… My husband has a straight talk phone, and when his service runs out at the end of the month, he can still use Wi-Fi. Fingers crossed!
If you use Facebook messenger on wifi you can call and text and video chat for free without having to activate the phone. I got a similar phone for my daughter to watch sesame street on and I used it as a back up when my regular phone was damaged. I think you can buy cards for activation as low as 20 or 30 dollars.
These will run off wifi only! We are getting them for my younger kiddos for Christmas!

Fyi: it does ask for your zip code and it may say your zip isn’t eligible. I used 48108 to get it to work and then at billing changed it back to my reg. zip. It worked fine. Planning to use this phone on wifi only anyway. 🙂

You can just got on Black Friday and buy these for $1 in the store as well! It is right on the front of the new DG ad! I have an older Tracfone and it works well in my area, so I may upgrade to this and see how I like it. Great offer and great phone service!!! (Tracfone in general)

Does anyone know if these run swagbucks or Perk aps well?
This is a cheap phone. Perks will bloat like a dead fish on them. You will need to clear the cashe’ at least once a day. Pain in the you know what! I find that perks only run fine/good on iOS devises. I have 4 cheap phones like this. Do yourself a favor and don’t get this if that’s what you want them for.
