Doesn’t appear to have kindle fires listed π
Great deal! To be honest, I love my 4th generation kindle. I could never see myself trading it, especially because it was an anniversary present. I know my way around it and have worn it in in all the right places π. I’ll probably look for another 4th Gen to replace.
Thanks for your review!
I have a 2011 Kindle Fire. Not included?
Anyone know where I can trade in an ipad 1st generation, still works and no cracks. TIA!
I have used Gazelle to trade in electronic devices and have been very pleased with them. Having said that, I did a quick search of all of of the iPad 1st generation devices and they are not worth more than $15.
Thanks Deb! I guess ive held onto it too long, not worth much.
Sell it on ebay, i just sold ours for $85 last week
My sons kindle fire HD will no longer charger. We have tested his charger and cord on his sister’s and it works, but for some reason his will not charge. It is very frustrating for him! Anyone else have a similar problem or know how to fix it?
This is a major, major problem with the kindle fires. My kids bought theirs with their own money, and they barely lasted a year without being able to charge. We called Amazon with no avail. There are some you tube videos out there on how to take the cover off and fix it by saudering it, but it didn’t work for us.
My kindle fire will not longer charge either.
YES!!! When my daughter’s started having that issue it was still under warranty. They replaced it 4 times..the last time it happened it wasn’t under warranty so they wouldn’t replace it. They offered me some money towards another one but I was tired of the issues so we got her a Samsung tab
Our first generation Kindle fire quit charging after the warranty expired. It’s very frustrating.
There are YouTube videos on how to fix it if you or someone you know is handy with a soldering iron. My husband fixed mine and bought two used ones and fixed them. Sadly, the chargers keep wiggling lose inside, and he is tired of repairing them. :/
We have two kindle fires, one suddenly quit having touchscreen capability. Nothing happened to it…just stopped working. I was so hopeful to see this… Too bad!
Darn. Sorry to hear that Nell π
My sons kindle fire no longer will charge either, he’s switched over to a samsung tablet too.
Oh no…I was actually just about to place an order for a kindle fire. Thank goodness I read here about the charger issue.
We also had trouble with the Kindle Fire charging..seems to be a common problem.
Mine did that too thank god I had warranty
I’m shocked to read about people not having success with Amazon customer service about their kindles I bought my husband one several years ago ( a fire ) and although we had several issues over the years with it, it’s been replaced by them three times without issue! The one we have now I now use and have had no problems with it for a long time now!
I have a first generation Kindle Fire that my daughter still uses, and it works fine. I guess it just depends.
We had this problem with my son’s Kindle Fire. After we tried a million things, we found a fix that actually worked for us. We held the power button down for at least 20 seconds then tried to turn it on. I think it is a reset of sorts. Hope it can help someone who hasn’t tried that yet.
I’ve always called Amazon customer service and had them talk me through issues. If you hold the power button down for 40 seconds it is called a hard reset and seems to solve many issues. I have the 1st generation kindle fire had and have had pretty good luck with it. We just ordered the new one on Black Friday. At $50, they are giving them away, so if we get 2+ years out of it we’re happy.
We have 3 fires 2 won’t charge . Amazon would not replace or do anything to help just offered me new version $15 off. π
Is the Amazon credit good on anything, or do you have to purchase a new Kindle with the $20?
Wahoo, thanks for the info Collin! I had an old kindle DX that would not sense the charger so it could not be charged. It has been gathering dust for more than a year, I just didn’t have the heart to toss it; awesome that they will pay me AND give me credit towards a new one! Guess I will be getting my hubby a new Fire really cheap with the credit for his birthday!!! π
OMG! This is awesome. I actually paid $19 for the 5th generation kindle and never ended up using it. It’s a moneymaker to send it back to them π
Thanks for the information about the reset. My kindle Fire has been sitting on my desk for a year waiting for me to figure out why it won’t charge. I held the button, charged it & now it seems to work.
We’ve been dealing with the same problem with my son’s Kindle Fire not charging; less than a year old. Glad to hear we’re not the only ones having problems. We’ve tried all the suggested fixes. Our next step is to go through customer service. Hopefully we have some luck with them.
