Are you able to see the fine print for certain restaurants before you by it like how much you have to spend etc?

    • Kamaya

Yes, u can. I think I’m gonna pass on this. A few restaurants that I was interested in has a $125 minimum to use a $50 voucher

Can anyone explain how the restaurant one works? Do u need to ask the restaurant or is the fine print off the deal valid.

I would contact the restaurant to make sure they’re accepting the vouchers. I’ve heard a lot of stories of people buying vouchers, they go to the restaurant and the restaurant refuses to accept the voucher. Most of the vouchers have a minimum you have to spend to get the $ amount off.

I don’t use restaurant.com anymore because of the voucher issues. I have just had so many bad experiences over the years. I hadn’t used my account in two years until recently; they sent me an email telling me I had credit in my account that I could use. I did use the credit and got a $10 voucher to a local Thai place. The voucher is only good Monday through Friday, for dine-in, only, the minimum purchase is $20, there’s an automatic gratuity added, and to top it off, when we tried to use the voucher by showing it on the app on my phone as instructed by the website, the restaurant refused to take it! They said they only accept the printed vouchers. The restaurant had ended up being very expensive (every restaurant I’ve tried with the vouchers has been expensive) and they had charged us the 18% gratuity anyway, which we didn’t notice so tipped on top of. It was over $40 for me and my husband, and all we had was an entree each, and some spring rolls. Not even drinks. And the entrees weren’t big enough to take leftovers home. >:-(

This doesn’t seem like that great a deal to me. Each movie ticket is only good up to a $12 value –my theatre is $18 so I will still have to pay an additional $12 at the theatre and extra at the restaurant.

    • Angela

Wow. $18 for a movie ticket? I would never go to the movies if I had to pay that price. It’s only $7.25 at my theater.

    • Julie

Whoa $18?! May I ask why city you are in? That’s insane!

I typed in my zip code to locate participating theaters (under fine print) and there were only theaters that played older movies.

    • masmics

That’s actually a bonus for me, I much prefer to support the little guy! But restaurant.com credits are more like minor coupons IMHO, and the “little guy” theater closest to me only charges $6-7 for full price admission. I appreciate the heads up tho!

Does anyone have experience using the movie cash? Wondering if it is possible to use it towards a higher priced ticket and just pay the overage (Star Wars is coming to IMAX and they tend to be around $14 here). 😄

PS- I have had a great experience with restaurant.com! Sorry to hear about some bad experiences above.

Careful, I just bought this as a Christmas gift and they expire 1/20/2016. I probably wouldn’t have bought them if I had realized that.
