I love birchbox and ipsy. I get great items every month and it’s such a great treat to get in the mail. Something to look forward to.

      • Brenda

Which do you like better? I currently get ipsy. Have never tried Birch Box.

Do existing subscribers think this is worth it? TIA!

    • A

Yes I always enjoyed it when it was gifted to me and also have given it as a gift a few times.

    • Nicki

Also when you review the items, you get $1 for each item to spend in the birchbox shop. So if you get 5 items and review all five “technically” these boxes would only cost you $2.33. I’m a little jealous as an existing subscriber lol.

If you’re a month by month subscriber you can cancel and get this!

I would really like opinions from anyone who has tried birchbox. I LOVE the idea of getting a surprise box every month, but don’t want to waste $88. Thanks so much.

You don’t have to buy the whole year up front. You can do month-to-month for $10 a month, that’s what I do. I occasionally cancel when I have makup overload and then resub when they have a great promo.

I’ve been with Birchbox for a couple of years. It’s a great way to try out high end makeup products. Most of them are deluxe sample sizes but some are full size. There’s always at least 5 products in there, most I’ve gotten in one box is 7. Even better, if you give feedback on products, you get at least $5 back each month to spend on Birchbox.com. I usually let the points accumulate and then buy something nice full size. Also, super easy to cancel and they have a great customer service. Here’s my referral link directly to Birchbox.com if anyone wants to sign up: https://www.birchbox.com/invite/k17km.

Also, if someone wants to do month-to-month instead of the ruelala deal there’s a coupon code subscribenow50 that gives you $5 to spend on birchbox.com. so, once your box arrives and you give feedback on producs (just have to checkmark the answers, takes a few seconds) you’ll get another $5 to spend. I think you can spend it in $10 increments.

Thanks so much for your feedback!

I have subscribed for about a year and a half and I love it. Your get 5-6 samples each month of a variety of items like makeup, hair care, body care, etc. My favorite part if that you get $1 worth of points for every review you do. So, if your box has 5 products, you get $5 back in points that you can use in their shop. Their shop has a huge selection of makeup and high end hair and body products. The customer service is also fantastic. They are super responsive to any issues and replace any broken or missing items on the rare occasion that happens. Thanks for sharing Mary!

I used to subscribe to Birchbox and was with them for a couple of years but stopped in favor of the Ipsy bag. I now get the subscription boxes from Ipsy, Sephora and Glossy Box which I really love. I tend to stockpile the boxes and at Christmas time, all the ladies get together as I open each package and we have kind of a makeup lottery so everyone goes home with some extra beauty products. It is a lot of fun.

    • Bethany

Which subscription do you like the best?

      • Laura

I love Ipsy because they have great products and a different makeup bag each month. Sephora is new and I’ve gotten just two boxes but great stuff. Glossy box is higher end and more expensive but along with that is products I’d never buy on my own. That probably didn’t help but I love them all.

    • Fabi

Awesome I didn’t know Sephora has a subscription box. How much is it per month.

      • Laura

        It’s 10 a month for Sephora.

        • Fabi

There’s a wait list on the Sephora subscription. ☹

My favorite part about birchbox is that there are some 20% off coupon codes (and occasionally other ones for a different discount) that you can use on items that you couldn’t normally get for cheaper at sephora or ulta. On top of that, you can use your points (in $10 increments) and pay even less out of pocket!

Loved my birchbox gift subscription that I was gifted. It was fun trying new products every month. I just bought my daycare provider a subscription and I hope she enjoys it as much as I did.

  8. Summer

I used to get ipsy and birchbox, but cancelled birchbox after about a yr because I felt I could get most of the samples at Sephora… They seem to be the same sizes. I did get a few full-size products occasionally, but that was very rare. I love my ipsy

  9. Melinda

For this price it’s okay, or if you’re giving it as a gift to someone just starting out with makeup. There are better subscription boxes. I was subscribed to birchbox for a year and a half (I keep forgetting to cancel) and it’s steadily getting worse. Products are getting smaller, lots of repeats, and none of the brands are particularly awesome.

If you can splurge, I 100% recommend Boxycharm (iirc it’s $15-20 a box). But like I said, as a gift or for a beginner, this is decent.

I subscribed for over a year and dropped it. It was not worth the cost. The items I got were often free with other orders I did. I even wrote them and asked if I could customize my box more due to personal preferences and allergies and they said no. I gave most of it away. Not worth the subscription fee every month. The boxes from other companies and the $5 boxes offered from Walmart and Target occasionally are much better deals, in my opinion.

  11. Trina

I had birchbox and ipsy both for a couple of years. I initially preferred birchbox, but over time they started really disappointing me and ipsy got better and better, so I cancelled and went with just ipsy. BB seemed like the samples got tinier, and even though they make a profile for your wants, I still got a lot of stuff that didn’t work for me and so many tiny perfume vials, which I have too many of to begin with. I also received one box that was very poorly packaged, and opened it to find tons of tiny glass shards and oil everywhere. I emailed them and they sent me a new box, but packaged just as loosely. It could have easily broken again. This is a great deal if you love BB or don’t mind taking a chance, but if you’re debating I’d suggest trying BB and ipsy for a month or two and seeing which (if either) you prefer.

  12. Kayla

I have Glossybox, ipsy and birchbox, but I recently canceled birchbox. The size of samples you get are very small. Some only one or two uses. I can’t tell if I like something in two uses. Some stuff that came was a decent size, but ipsy and glossy were worth the money more than birch. Glossy is by far the best if you can score a good price for a year subscription. Otherwise it’s $21 a month.

  13. Nik

If you do this deal are you still able to sign onto birchboxes website and customize your box like you would ordering it straight from birchbox?

  14. Jennifer

I’m a recent subscriber of BirchBox and am not impressed. Don’t get me wrong, I love the idea of a surprise box every month but the samples are so small. I cannot tell if I like an item with only 2 uses.

  15. Marina

I have been subscribed to Birchbox, Ipsy and Boxycharm for 6 months now and I’m so glad I did. It’s like Christmas every month. The samples are not big in Birchbox and ipsy but I found so many great skin/hair care products that I’ve never heard of before that now I bought full sizes because I love them so much. As a mom to 10, this is such a great treat to get just for my self!
