I LOVE Jawbone and have had the original UP, UP24 and the UP 2. I feel they are smaller than a FitBit and look better on a small wrist. The first two I had were great but the UP2 has some bugs. I hope the UP3 doesn’t have them. I’m getting very low readings and step inaccuracies on my UP 2. I’m even getting forward then backward progress. For example last night it read over 6,000 steps then after syncing, it said 4,700…so annoying. I contacted Jawbone about this issue and customer service is amazing, but it didn’t resolve the issue :(. Hopefully the Oprah team found the UP 3 as the best tracker. This is a fantastic deal too. Just wanted to share.
I had problems with a model (upmove) before. They sent me a new one and it had the same problems. They couldn’t tell me what to do. I uninstalled the app (after and update) and reinstalled it and then it worked correctly after that. Now I do it every time the have an update and I haven’t had a problem.
Their warranty is fantastic! Like you, I’ve had all the original ones, but after about a year, a part or something break, but they replace it for me, no charge!

I had the up24, it broke, they send me up2 and in 2 months the band snapped in two. They send me a new one. With so many problems I am not sure if I want to invest money on a new one. And as you said the readings show considerably less than the up24. Not sure how correct everything is. I noticed the band counts your steps based on your arm movement, so if you are pushing a shopping cart it doesn’t count the steps or you have your hands in your pockets for example.
