These didn’t get very good reviews. Many people said theirs quit working after a short amount of time.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn. Sorry to hear that Cassie.

  2. katelyn

A good price, then realized the reviews were all over the place

  3. Jamie

I can’t figure out if this will work with my iPhone 5. :/

    • Felicia

It should. You just download the app.

    • Susan

      It does.

I do not recommend these at all. I got one feb 2015 and the button died within a few months. Sent it in for warrenty and the customer service was great. They shipped me another asap but it broke within a couple of months also. I loved it as far as the features go. I lost over 30lbs with it since it was a great motivator! I now own the fit bit charge hr and it is so much better and tons of features! Highly recommended!

Thanks for your honest review Mandy. I sure do appreciate it.

I’ve been using this device since I found it for about that price on clearance at Target in September. It sinks with My Fitness Pal, which is nice. I think it’s supposed to motivate me to walk more but I mostly ignore it. It was somewhat helpful when I saw my doc recently who asked me how I was sleeping – according to big brother here, not well at all. It has a cool alarm function where it will wake you within a preset window of time based on what cycle of sleep you’re in. So if I want to be up around 7 am, I give it a 15 minute window on either side and it waits until I’m in light sleep and buzzes me awake. Not hearing the ridiculous buzzing of an alarm clock in the morning is fantastic. I don’t expect this thing to last forever, but even if it lasts a year I feel like that’s the lifespan of tec products now anyway.

Thanks for such great feedback Megan!

I have one for almost a year now, works fine still, but hubby got me a microsoft band for Christmas and see big difference in the steps. I wore both to bed last night so the steps would start off the same this morning. The microsoft band says I went 2426 steps yet my up band says 6021 steps. Don’t know which is right. The microsoft definitely tracks my sleep better I compared. Can’t really gauge the step count/mileage til the stupid snow is gone here in the NW so when I walk my park I know the route is .52 miles per lap.

I did research on the Microsoft band and found out that the pedometer is not correct. Google it.

  7. Whitney

I also do not recommend these! I had the same story as many other readers I went through 2 bands within 8 months because they stopped working. I now have a Fitbit charge HR and it’s amazing!! They are great motivations for weight loss goals

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for sharing your experience Whitney.

Certainly worth $30 to see if you like having one of these. My husband and I bought them together at the beginning of last year and they have motivated both of us to walk MUCH farther than we would have otherwise. Their customer service is fantastic. Both of ours died after about 6 months and they sent us completely free replacements. I think that stops after a year, but now we know the features that we want in a fitness tracker! EASILY worth $30 just to get us both moving more for a year!! :0) Thanks, Collin, for posting the deal last year on these!! So grateful for this site.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Good to know! You are so welcome Marni!

I was thinking about getting one of these for my mother. But she only has a tablet and no cell phone will she be able to use this and link it to her tablet? Thanks

    • 4Ella

Yes that’s what I did. But, mine stopped working after couple of months, had to exchange for another one. After I heard on tv that they are not good for your health, I returned that one too.

    Bad luck here but..?

Purchased at staples in September 2015. Paid $50. Button quickly gave issues, kept falling off. Then the charge tip recessed into the plastic.

Called CS last week and they replaced it free. So if you get it cheap here you are pretty much going to get a newer model free

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

So glad you were able to get a replacement!

  11. Rey

Prices are a little higher now

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the heads up. Just updated!

I bought this last January but the bottom collapsed. I checked their website and I saw that for this issue they are sending new up2. I called customer service and he was going to send me this model again until I told him about the free upgrade. The up2 was great but the band snapped in two in 2 months. I called again and I was send yet another one. We’ll see how long it lasts. Sigh!

  13. Naomi

I’ve had like 3 or 4 bands and all stopped working. I gave up and stopped calling for replacement. Don’t recommend.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Bummer 🙁

  14. debbie

I bought one last fall. Absolutely loved it! Until it quit working a few months later. I would recommend buying something that last longer that 4 months.

  15. Sarah

I have had mine for a while (6 months to a year) and haven’t had any problems. I love it, the app is easy to read and understand. The only downside is remembering to plug it in to charge once a week, I usually forget until it’s dead and then once I plug it in, I forget to put it back on. My dad has a garmin one any only needs to replace the battery once a year. But I think this UP is worth the $30. I got mine in a random bin at a bent and dent grocery store here and only paid $2.50!

I got one for $12 a few months ago. It is okay but not great. I like the sleep feature but I often have to re sync multiple times to get the data. It really hasn’t been worth it. If anyone is looking for a more affordable alternative to the fit bit I had a misfit (it was around $70 at the time) I absolutely LOVED it. Plus you can swim with it! It has been my favorite tracker.
