I wonder why so many free Friday things the past week? I have 4 free things on my account right now!!

    • Lauri

I was wondering the same thing. I went to Kroger yesterday and the store was packed, I think everybody was getting their freebies! I got at least 4 freebies yesterday and I was surprised they were all in stock. : )

It’s a promo Kroger (and affiliates) is running Jan 13-19 as “It’s a Whole Week of Fridays”.

I went yesterday to get milk and bread and redeem the freebies I had. The lady ahead of me had 4 separate transactions of freebies! The clerk called the manager over and he explained it is one promotion per household, but she proceeded to tell that it was and it was her moms, grandmothers, and sisters cards and her own. I was disappointed to see someone lie to get some “free” items and manipulate the system. Kroger and promotional companies have been generous for years with the Friday freebies, but I can’t help but wonder if it is coming to an end soon because of such abuse. I personally enjoy the surprise and trying the products.

I do pick up my mother’s and my brother’s freebies for them. We are all separate households. They don’t live near Kroger and my brother doesn’t drive so I frequently pick up grocery items for them. She may have been abusing the system but this doesn’t apply to everyone that picks up items for others. It would be too overwhelmimg for me to make anymore separate transactions than I do, so I’m not sure I could pick for 4 people.

I work at a 55+ community and I run concierge errands for my residents – pick up scripts and groceries and laundry, etc.. i try to go when its not busy or make a couple transactions at a time then go around again and do a couple more, but i can do up to 10 transactions a day. i feel really bad when people are behind me – i don’t mean to hold up anybody’s day , but I am certainly not trying to scam the system., these are awesome deals and people shouldn’t be excluded just because it is hard for them to get out of the house – they are all still loyal customers.

I do pick up my son’s freebies too,and buy him groceries, all at the same time,he is working full time and he is on his last year on college too full time student.

Don’t lump everyone into the same category. While some do “abuse” the system there are others who do pickup groceries for others whether family or not. I personally know several people who are house bound or do not have a drivers license that have others shop for them on a weekly basis.

I would also would have several transactions if I were visiting my mom. She is in her 80″s with a 97 year old husband. My aunt also in her 80’s has recently had surgery and I have a cousin who can no longer walk. All separate households. Not only would I have to pick up and deliver their items I would also have to add them to their cards since they can not.

The freebies definitely get snagged off the shelves quickly, but my Kroger is usually pretty good about restocking daily. Check end caps; the often out the freebies on display (the popcorn and Mac and cheese both had empty shelves in the organic section where they are located, but then there were plenty on the end of an aisle somewhere else in the store. The small stuff like fun and candy are often in special little carts by the registers at my local store.

I took my two year old to get the freebies today. My store has new kid-size cats that are adorable! She gathered her freebies in her own cart, put the items (except the waters) on the belt herself, gave the clerk her Kroger card, and her coupon (she used a $1/2 coupon for the waters). She paid with her $1 and some change, got her receipt and was on her way. It was such a cute moment yet learning experience 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      That’s adorable! Thanks for sharing!

Picked up my 8 freebies (except they don’t carry the trident gum cups) 😢I shopped for a work friend who just had surgery so she gets a lot of these freebies from my card since she can’t leave her house yet. Thanks Collin for letting us know about these!… Kroger is my new fave!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Glad you could grab some freebies! You are very welcome!

I also shop for my grandparents that are home bound. So I would have 2 separate transactions. Actually, I did that today. Also, picked up my step fathers free things. Kroger did not have a problem with it.
