Britax Infant Car Seat Handle Recall (Nearly 71,000 Car Seats Are Affected)
Do you own a Britax infant car set?
Britax just announced that it is recalling nearly 71,000 infant car seats. Apparently, a defect within the carry handle exists in certain B-Safe 35 and B-Safe 35 Elite infant car seat models – the affected seats were manufactured between October 1, 2014 and July 1, 2015. Click HERE to see if your Britax product is included in this recall and then follow the directions to request your Carry Handle Remedy Kit.
If you do indeed own one of these affected seats, do NOT return product to the retailer – the seat is still safe to use when secured in a vehicle or on a Britax stroller but do NOT lift or carry the car seat by the handle until you receive the remedy kit and it has been installed. For more information, contact the Britax Customer Service Department at the dedicated recall line 1-800-683-2045 (note that due to inclement weather associated with Winter Storm Jonas, the Customer Service Department at Britax headquarters is closed today, January 22nd) or e-mail Britax.Recall@britax.com. Check out the Britax Facebook page for more information.
(Thanks, Kathryn!)
Perrigo brand children’s cold medicine is as well. I mentioned this in an email. It is a very popular off brand children’s cold medicine sold at CVS, dollar general, rite aid, heb, Kroger, and many other stores. The measuring cups are labeled incorrectly posing an overdose risk.
Thank you Kathryn and Collin! I have this seat and lately hip2save is about time for on the internet. I likely wouldn’t have found out for quite a while if it wasn’t for the two of you.
Thank you so much!!!
You’re welcome Wendy!
Ordered my repair kit already. Would be happier with a replacement carseat though. Scary about what could possibly happen.
UM…How many kids got dropped before they found out the handle had issues…..ugh.
I get so frustrated with these recalls. I thought britax was a “better” company.
