I got mine at best buy for the 59.99 price because I was having nosebleeds that day and couldn’t wait to shop around about a month ago. It’s very cool looking but as with most humidifiers I’m not sure how effective it is at brining in moisture. But even if it’s not being used at least this one looks great and is still used as a decorative item.

I know my cats loved it.

Is a humidifier a needed thing do you guys think? I have never used one. Do you sleep with it? My bf seems to wake up all groggy like. What does it do?
    Do they die out?
    Thank you!!

We use one in the winter months only. It just puts moisture in the air. We have a very large one that has filters. We run it near the air intake so it helps through te while house. I can’t imagine not having it in the winter. It has illuminated the dry throat in the mornings, static hair, and dry skin. When the heater runs it dries out the air and the humidifier puts the moisture back. We have had ours for over 10 years and it is still running strong. We replace the filters every year and it runs almost nonstop from December through February. Ours also tells us the humidity in the house. We paid just over $100 for ours. If you do plan to get one I recommend going with a bigger, better one. We started with a small one and we would have needed 3-4 of them to work well. We just moved it from living room to bedroom as needed.

Guess I should slow my typing down πŸ˜€ eliminated not illuminated

Wow 10 years! Can I ask what you did to maintain it? How often did you have to clean it and change filters. Did you dump leftover water everyday?

I wonder if essential oils could be added does anyone know?

    • ALO

No not to this specific one u can find ones on Amazon that you can add them to though

    • JC

As an essential oil educator, I’d say no, you probably shouldn’t use them in a humidifier. Young living is offering 10% off of kits through the month of February and they have amazing oil diffusers! Just FYI, this is one of those products that was offered on certain websites for $5 in exchange for reviews, so I wouldnt fully trust the reviews. Reviewers only have a few days to test the product and often that’s not enough.

    • Stephanie

I have 2 from this brand, I did get them to review, but they still work great after about a month. Still 100% recommend!

  5. Susan

This is on sale at BonTon for $49.99, but it ends up being $44.99 with the PRESIDENT16 code. Then if you have shoprunner the shipping is free.

Sweet find Susan! Thanks for the heads up!

I bought one at Walmart a few weeks ago – my son was so excited because it looked cool in his room but we had to take it back- the thing was absolute crap! The top didn’t allow enough water through it and didn’t direct it into the air so it just made a huge mess all over the machine and anything it was sitting on! I definitely do not recommend and you can buy a really nice one on Amazon for cheaper too!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh bummer. Super sorry to hear that. πŸ™ Thanks for your honest review.

Just gonna put this out there so you all can know what I do. Read alllll the way to the end of any product reviews on amazon, and read about 10 for whatever you are looking at. If the end says “I received this item in exchange or at a discount for my honest opinion” then they likely got it for free or very inexpensive. This particular humidifier has been listed for $3 on a group that does reviews in exchange for amazon coupon codes. I decide based only on reviews on other sites or word of mouth these days.

    • Misako

So true. I can’t fully trust the “high rating” these days.
