      Thanks Shannon! Just added!

    • Katie

I just bought that one! Excited!!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

        Sweet! 😀

this seems to be all the rage …… does everyone love it ? and how is it different for cooking? does it give you more options / is it faster? I guess what makes it so wonderful ?

    • Kate

It’s amazing. You can make crock pot like meals in minutes. Everyone should have one!!

    • Kim

I cooked a whole chicken in 25 minutes and jasmine rice in 6 min. (Plus tume to come to pressure.) The pot is stainless instead of Teflon so that’s a plus. It saves me when I nap and start dinner later than I should. #momproblems

I let mine sit for several weeks before opening and was planning to return it. I decided to give it a try and I have been using it an average of 1-2 times per week. I love to cook and wasn’t sure if I would like it. This just makes it easier and every recipe I have tried has been great…even boiled eggs are easy and the shells practically fall off.

      • Kim

Totally agree about the boiled eggs plus i don’t have to worry about forgetting they’re on the stove.

My sister gave me one for Christmas because she’s obsessed with hers. I finally busted it out and will tell you, I put FROZEN chicken in it with some different liquids/marinades and it was READY IN 20 MINUTES!!!! – and delicious. Truly. I’m really excited to use it more!! Quick dinners here I come! 🙂

Besides price, what is the difference between the 7-1 and the 6-1?

    • Kim

Off the top of my head, one differnce is the 7 makes yogurt and the 6 does not. The Instant Pot website has a good comparison chart.

    • Shannon

1 quart difference in size, too.

  5. Darla

Can these be used for canning, as well?

  6. Jessica

It is pretty much the best thing since, forever! As a mom whom often forgets to pull meat out in time to defrost it for dinner, this is a life saver! All meats fall apart and because it uses the pressure/steam from whatever liquid you place in there to cook, all the seasonings and juice absorb into the meat! AMAZING! Only down fall, I can no longer say, “oh no, we have to order in, the meat isn’t defrosted!”

Is this way to clean? And is it retractable wire/plug? Thx

    • Melloddie

      *easy to clean

Bed, Bath, and Beyond has these for $99 everyday. Add in a 20% off coupon, and it’s $80 plus tax. I bought one as a gift over the holidays from Kohl’s. I’m not certain if they have them all of the time or just over the holidays, but mine was $70 ($99- 30% coupon).

    • Divya

Instant pot is a brand – it’s not sold at bbb or Kohls

how is this different or better than a stovetop pressure cooker?
i have a stovetop Fagor, will the IPot be a better replacement or should i just stick with my stovetop pressure cooker?

    • YG

I tried the recipe from instant pot on stovetop pressure cooker. It burnt the fish curry as there’s too little liquid in it. Instant pot does not seem to have this problem. However, I return my instant pot as I got a lemon (after exchanged twice).

      • Luv

        thanks for the response

Thank you for posting this. I fell asleep with my tv on and when I woke up there was a infomercial about this same cooker. I was so intrigued that I found myself sitting there watching them cook and talk about it. I was so impressed that I was going to order one. They showed the price of 4 installments of $33.00 each. If you ordered right then they would’ve drop 1 payment making it $99.00 plus postage and handling. I wasn’t able to order it because I had to go to work. I forgot all about it until seeing your earlier post, but the price had increased. I just got it for the new listed price and can’t wait to use it.

  11. Jess

I just bought one from Walmart. It was on clearance for 50.00 in store! Can’t wait to try it!

    • Olivia

Jess that’s a steal! I love this thing! So much so that I purchased one for my parents and use it almost every other day! Who can take you from frozen to gourmet in like 20mins? Just need to keep the seal cleaned because it traps smells and can stink after awhile…other than that great buy!

  12. Renee

I love my Instant Pot! We use it all the time. It makes the best bone broth ever, in a fraction of the time!

    • Olivia

Lol sounds like one of the lines on the infomercial….”in the fraction of the time” but it’s true!

  13. JaxJay

I got the 7/1 yesterday, does anybody know if it comes with a recipe book? Thanks
