   Sorry, for not being up-to-date, but why not just use your free apps on your smart tv instead? …save the $$ on one of these many boxes? Thanks for any info.

  For me we dont have a smart tv so we dont have apps. We have roku but its really similar! When we upgrade our tv we will get a smart tv and then it wont be needed but until then, you need one of these to access the apps

  A smart tv costs around $500 depending on the size. This stick is under $100. Better bargain; not everyone has a smart tv.

  This Fire TV, and the other Fire TV stick with voice remote, both allow you to “ask Alexa” and you can not only search for movies and music that way, but you can ask her the weather, where is the nearest pharmacy, etc, etc. Who sang a song, wrote a book, find a recipe, etc. It’s like that amazon “echo” thing that they also sell. It’s AMAZING!
