Oh how neat. I’ll have to pass this along to my sons 2nd grade teacher. She is the best! Tyvm

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome!

  2. heather

It would be great if they offered that here in Denver, Colorado! I homeschool my kiddos, and would love to have something like that! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Shannon

Teachers have to jump through a lot of hoops, write tests etc. to become a certified teacher and they have to do without raises for years due to cuts and spends hundreds of dollars on other people kids buying school supplies. I don’t think it’s fair for homeschoolers to cheat the system. Just saying…

      • Mindy

Homeschooling is TONS of work too….just sayin’

        • Shannon

I’m sure it is but that is your choice and your kids! Teachers sacrifice so much and get so little in return.

          • Mindy

just as teaching is THEIR choice of profession. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I love that we all have choices and our freedom!

          • Erin

Teachers have a choice to be in that profession as well.

          • Rita

Homeschool teachers work for free and that’s one or two or three or more kids off the backs of teachers working at a school getting a payroll check. I understand teachers have many struggles and smaller pay BUT it is a choice. No one is forcing them to chose the teaching profession. TRUE teachers will endure and be willing to help the children without complaint until our society is fixed.

          • Kim

Yes homeschool teachers, who make your classroom less crowded, yet who still pay their school taxes for your paycheck. Cheat the system by schooling their kids. We don’t make tests, lesson plans, pay for all supplies, pay for all field trips out of pocket for ourselves and students, grade papers, or anything. Our kids just go to college by the average age of 14-16 completely unprepared after passing the SATs. It is nice to be included and I don’t waste my money at over priced places who exclude some teachers whether it be homeschool, private school or preschool. Our public school teachers make an average of $72,000 starting! I know they earn it, they chose that career too and look at how horrible our PS students do on tests!, but I’m paying their paycheck and making nothing it is completely unfair.

Why do you think at school teachers are the only ones to make sacrifices? I have four children that I am homeschooling. When I had them, do you think that was the plan? NO. My plan was for them to go to a regular school as I did. But with all the crazy stuff that has ben going down in schools with the teachers, subs, janitors and bus drivers, I decided I wanted them home with me to protect them. I spend between 10 to 12 hours of my day teaching. Not to mention the hours I spend prepping every night when they go to bed. We also have to pay for our homeschooling here and public school would have been free. I have to pay for supplies that would have been available for my children at a regular school on top of all the learning materials and recess activities. Yes, teachers spend their own money as well, but there is a lot of donation and freebies out there for them that maybe they don’t know about and I don’t qualify for. There was an event for “real” teachers where they received some very expensive gadgets (iphones and tablets, ect) for free and got to pick out all kinds of supplies. They walked out with a good $5000 each person.

I rarely post.. in drama threads but I agree with you. BTW it’s the rule of seaworld so I guess they decide and we dont.. There are tons of perks for homeschooling parents too. Teachers don’t get much. Tht being said. I am not a teacher nor home schooler… tho I do have a teaching degree. And lots of homeschooling friends. And the deal is not tht great if u lokmat parking… 16 per car unless you spouse e or kids get a year pass.. year pass comes out about 10 ish.. so if you go more than once a month better off with a real pass with bo black outs and parking.

          • riss

I admire both the school teachers and homeschoolers for your patience. I could never do what you do, that’s why I send my kids to school. Both being teachers and homeschoolers are by choice, but since schoolteachers are doing it for 20-30 kids, vs 2-4 kids for moms, I think teachers deserve discounts, although they get paid, and homeschoolers don’t. My point is, homeschoolers are lucky they can afford to do that full-time, not having to work outside the home, and spend time with their child/children. So, don’t be “jealous” of this promo that you’re excluded. (Ducking now๐Ÿ˜จ)

        • Mindy

Sorry, I hit the send before I finished my comment.
I was going to say that It’s always nice when homeschool teachers get included too….
I wouldn’t want to put up with all that the public school teachers go through. Kudos to you!

      • Windy

Wow Shannon! No need to be rude. Not a good way to represent teachers, whether you are one or not, your response attacking someone merely saying she homeschooled is not wanted or needed. Homeschooling also is tons of work.

      • Allison

How is she trying to cheat the system Shannon?

      • Yolanda

I hope you are not a teacher Shannon. I wouldn’t want “other people’s kids” to be such a bother to you for a profession you chose to be in.

        • Shannon

Everybody: just to clarify, I have no problem with homeschoolers. They are wonderful people. This in response to the person who said she could make up an official letter from a principal to get a freebie. THAT IS ALL! If the company is offering a promotion to teachers then that is great for all. And no I am NOT a teacher.

  3. Kelly

I did it! All I had to provide was school and az license number. Can’t wait to take my daughter in June!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Oh awesome! Enjoy!

  4. Sarah

Just got mine! For CA they just verified my certificate document number for my credential. Yay for free family fun-day!

    • Tlee

      Hey Sarah,
Which teacher ID number did you use? What it your credential license number with the CTC?
      Thanks!

  5. kristie

Legoland homeschool days come in really handy for us we plan our vacations around spending one day there

  6. Yolanda

I’m neither a school nor home teacher. kudos to both!! I would never be able to school my kids, let alone someone else’s. IMO Seaworld should allow passes for both! As a mother of 4, thanks for all you do๐Ÿ‘

  7. rachel

Teachers deserve this. They spend endless hours touching the lives of thousands of kids. I will be passing this info on to all of my teacher friends and kids teachers.

  8. Kelly

Watch the documentary Blackfish and see if you could still stomach going there.

    • Princess

Kelly, my daughter and I finally watched it after Collin’s last Sea World post. I live in Florida and we’ve been to Sea World many times, but after watching Blackfish I can’t support them anymore until they make some serious changes. I was in tears and so was she. I had heard of the movie but never bothered to watch it, and it was a true eye opener. I’m not commenting to sway anyone one way or another, but just wanted to say how I feel. Congratulations and thank you to each and everyone who shapes the minds of our children (in school and home school teachers). My mom was a teacher and it truly takes a special person.

      • Rebeca

Princess, you made my day! All I ask for people is: watch, read, get informed. By all means get informed by both sides of the story and then, make your own, personal and informed decision. I am not trying to yell at anyone what they need to do, but we can NOT afford ignorance, not at the cost of injustice and suffering. I too visited Sea World years ago. Never again.

  9. Kate Hedges

Can anyone find where you can sign up for SeaWorld Florida or San Antonio if you’re not from FL or TX? We’re in MD, and I wanted to pass this on to my kids’ teacher but I’d like to know it works first before sending it. I can only see that you have to be a teacher in FL or TX to apply.

    • Kelly

I think you have to be a teacher in California or Arizona only, unfortunately.

  10. Tlee

Can someone help me please? I’m a teacher in CA but don’t know which teacher ID number they are talking about. It is the CTC number that they state give you? Hope someone can help me. Thanks!

  11. emily

does the teacher need to be present with ID ME pass to get the 3 friends and family in?
