I have this mixer and while it is a “good” mixer I would not suggest buying this if you make a lot of homemade bread dough. The bowl will get stuck on it so hard after mixing dough for 8-10 min and the motor starts to smell like it overheating. I also have the ice cream maker and for that it works great. I cook from scratch most of the time so I really wish I would have listen and bought better model. This is great for the entry level cook, however I am a professional chef and should have went with a Hobart…HTH
thank you for you feedback 😊 very helpful. im thinking about buying this one for my mom do you think it would be good for mixing dough like every 3 days a week?
If she is mixing any type of bread dough I would NOT go with this one… The bowl gets screwed on so tight by the mixing force my husband has a hard time getting it off. Plus the motor really can’t take the longer harder mixing bread requires. However this mixer is great for cakes and cookie dough or anything else that doesn’t require long hard mixing.
oh ok yea she makes alot of bread we are a big family. this one is a no no 😊Thank you very much for your prompt help. i am so glad i read your comment.
Hobart?!!! Wow! I had no idea a mixer could be so expensive. I thought I was looking at car prices again!! LOL
Thanks for the honest review Michelle!
I highly recommend checking out this buying guide before purchasing a mixer. My mom wanted to get a mixer so I’d been checking hip2save for deals. Fortunately, the best deal I had found (before seeing the buying guide) was sold out when my mom purchased it so they never charged her. I recently purchased a 575 watt motor mixer–KitchenAid Pro 6, which is great for frequently kneading bread dough! . They are more expensive, but I’m sure worth the investment. Be careful about the names of the mixers too. The numbers in the name don’t seem to have anything to do with the wattage. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/clp/kitchenaid-mixer-buying-guide/pcmcat294600050001.c?id=pcmcat294600050001
Thank you! i will check this out, Also any ideas which store offers better price/deal on mixers Kohls or Target?
I have been keeping an eye on the prices for probably a year. I got the pro 6 with a 575 watt motor refurbished from ebay with a 1 year warranty for $259. I haven’t seen them on sale at Target, but I avoid Target. Kohl’s didn’t have any good deals on them either from what I saw.
Target has one of the larger one ( maybe pro) for $249 tho I haven’t checked recently. My sister got her pro one from Costco. It’s exclusively for Costco ( aka different model number)
