Sports Authority

As I mentioned last night, all Sports Authority locations across the country will be closing by the end of August. As a result, each store will be holding sales that will allow you to take advantage of big discounts on popular brands.

Sports Authority

AND…it appears that the sales start today in ALL stores and online where you can save up to 30% off the original ticketed price on apparel, sports equipment, shoes and more! If shopping online, keep in mind that shipping is free on $39 orders.

Important deadlines to note:

* Existing warranties for merchandise purchased at a Sports Authority store or online at SportsAuthority.com will remain in effect! Asurion will continue covering all products purchased under extended service plans without change or interruption –> click here for more information or call toll-free at 1-866-882-8512.

* If you need to make an exchange or returns at a Sports Authority store, you can only do so through June 25th, 2016.

* If you have a Sports Authority gift card, it will be honored through June 28th, 2016; however you can no longer purchase new gift cards.

    30%? Meh.

    • Crystal

      Yeah I agree, I’m waiting!

  2. Lieesha

Wow another business that;s a victim of the Obama economy.

    • peepslob

Sports Authority prices are too expensive.

      • Heather

I agree – we live near one, and i would go in there once in awhile for shoes, and i would walk away and but them online for $20 cheaper, free shipping. Obama didn’t kill the store, the internet did.

      • Heather

The internet killed them – you can buy most of the same stuff online for MUCH cheaper.

    • Crystal

Clearly you don’t know how the economy works. This is not one person’s doing.

    • Fran

Seriously?? This is a couponing site. Keep your political agenda to a blog that covers that.

  3. Lieesha

Another victim of Obama’s economy where 94 million don’t have jobs.

    • thehenrydthoreau

This is a more of a needed correction from the baby boomer generation. There has been too many stores for too long. The credit free-for-all is over and people must live within their means; another means to separate the wheat from the chaff.

      • Eric

Credit free for all is over???? Lol lol lol the credit free for all is going on right now thanks to Obama with all the non working people living off the government and anyone who does work aka the taxpayers.

        • thehenrydthoreau

Hmmm. I meant the availability of credit via loans and credit cards. You know, what supports a fiat economy??!!

      • Rita Marie

The credit-free-for-all is at its worst right now with all the people living off others and not getting jobs and working for their own money. It’s being handed to them.

    • Zaneta

Lieesha the “blaming Obama” comments are not necessary and maybe you need to do some research on the job growth since Obama has been in office! Sports Authority closing is the topic on this discussion board not Obama.

  4. Lisa

MOST EXCLUSIONS apply to good stuff (Nike, Under Armour, Adidas, Easton) just to name a few. I just left there!

    • thehenrydthoreau

Nike items will not be reduced? Thanks for saving me a trip.

      • Amy

Nike will be reduced at some point. They are in court now
Certain vendors are filing claims so hey can’t be reduced.
        Prices change each week

  5. Jackie

The sports authority closest to my house started a few months back, and they started at 10%. By the time it was at 30% alot of the good stuff was gone, just an FYI. I may try and check out other stores in the nearby by region, that are just now starting at 30%.
Never know what you will find!

    • Bethany

Sadly—–yes, a lot of the good stuff goes at lower percentages off! People see “going out of business sale” and go a little nutty even though you can do much better shopping sales. This is what happened at our Macys.

  6. Jacki

Aw you can always gets amazing deals on north face once and a while
There. Sorry they are going out of business.

  7. serena.blaire@rocketmail.com

Sad…in NorCal Sports Chalet (which is our fave!!) has been liquidating…now Sports Authority…that leaves Big 5 and mall stores….

  8. kima

    THANK YOU CRYSTAL!

  9. Kristin Phipps

I’d love to see pictures if anyone goes to the store!!

  10. Crawford

My store in omaha nebraska is 60% off.

  11. lenin1991

This is being put on by the same liquidators that have done other chains including Circuit City, where it was observed that 20 or 30% off items were actually more expensive than they sold for before liquidation started, because they compared it to MSRP…

    • Em

Yep! I noticed at the Borders closings that the liquidators brought in outside products to sell. Some items were definitely not original Borders inventory.

  12. julie

We visited our store nearby. Most of it was only 10% off and some items had no discounts at all. I didn’t see anything for 30% off, but did pick up a few things for 20% off.

  13. Dana

It’s sad to see companies like these go out of business. In my opinion, a lot of these businesses go out of business due to mismanagement of income produced by hard working laborers, greedy upper level managers, non- competitive pricing.

  14. Cleo

C’ mon guys. This is not about Obama or the Internet really. I went in Sporta Authority once or twice, and it was terrible. I brought my foot traffic business elsewhere. And that was before I preferred the Internet. They did not have a good business model to make it. I go elsewhere. The 30% off hit or miss just underscores why I never went back!
