I’m just curious how other moms out there manage to actually stay committed to working out? I’m a single mom of a toddler and have a full time job…I already get up at 5am just for life, and I’ve tried an hour earlier, but I end up blowing it off for sleep. I’d love to get in shape with this, or any other, program…but I can’t seem to stick with it 🙁
I’m currently doing the 22 minute hard corps program. I’ve got a toddler and 22 minutes is just enough time for her to watch an episode of her tv show and me to get a butt busting workout in! And the shakeology drinks really work. I lost 5 pounds the first month I drank them. They seem so $ but if you divide the cost by the 30 day supply it’s $3-4 for your full breakfast. And those first 30 days I lost the weight I didn’t do a single workout! If you’d like more info faith I can help 🙂
Hi Faith! Wow it sounds like you have your hands full! For me, I try to wake up before my girls (9 months and 2.5 years old). The 4 o’clock hour sounds quite early though!
Do you have a lunch break where you could workout and eat? Or would your toddler be interested in working out with you? Mine likes to grab 2 pound weights and do the workouts with me. I love that Beachbody programs are only about 30 minutes and I just recently finished 22 Minute Hard Corps which are just 22 minutes a day!

I was a single mom for a very long time. When it comes to working out….after the first week you have more energy than you used to have. I promise you. This is a great work out. But if you have limited time I would try his T25 work out. It’s just as good and the work outs ate only 25 min
Thank you all for the encouragement and great tips! I know I just need to get on it, and I’m thinking maybe I can get into it if I focus on trying to do it at night after my son goes to sleep since that’s when I shower anyway…I always have to get up at the same time regardless. I do like the idea of the BB on demand a bit, since I’d like to mix it up, even if it costs a bit more in the long run.

I love BB On Demand! I’m doing the Hammer & Chisel program right now and it’s awesome. I work from home and homeschool my 2 kids, so I wake up at 5:30am to get my workout in before the day starts. The first couple of weeks, I was exhausted, but now I have way more energy and I swear it’s easier. Just getting that habit going is a huge step. I’ve been super consistent since January 1st with it! Since you’re up so early anyway, I think trying to work in a night workout is a great idea. Especially since you’re showering anyway! I think the average BB workout is 30-45 minutes per day. Just remind yourself that you are well worth that time investment! It’s great for you AND your kiddo.

Ashley I love it and use it daily! It is really nice to take my workouts outside on a cool morning or to have available when I am traveling. There are also hundreds of hours of programs included, which is nice so you can try many different programs! There are sneak peeks of all the recent programs (from the last 2 years or so) so you can try before you can buy. Then there are also FULL access to programs like Brazilian Butt Lift, Hip Hop Abs, Turbofire, etc so you won’t ever be bored with your workouts and can constantly switch things up and have access to many different top celebrity trainers. This workout is extremely hard and I consider myself in shape, I had to sell mine. I personally am a fan of Zumba.
I agree. If you are not already used to working out regularly, I wouldn’t recommend starting with this set. But, if you can stick with it, it works wonders. 🙂
I’m using this program now. I have to do it at night being a single mom with a full time job and have been able to stick with it most nights. It’s very challenging and I’m not able to complete all the stuff but I already see an improvement. I love it

I suck @ doing the at hm wrkouts. Ill do it one or two times & just not have the time. I personally go to the YMCA as I can put my kids in childwatch & have a break time while I work out. I do TRX, women on weights & bootcamp. Just mho.
I hear ya! I can never stick to these home workouts. I have bought insanity, p90x and a few others:/ I do good for about a week or 2 then I’m over it! I’d much rather be outside hiking, running, kayaking, taking a class at the gym, or signing up for a 5k race. Thats how I stay motivated. I just can’t stick with these home workout videos.
During the first month, the workouts take about 40 minutes and then 1 hour when you enter the second month. I have done the first month but never did the 1 hour workouts because I just do not have 1+ hour to spend when I have to take care of my kids.
Does anyone have recommendations for a strength training based workout? I have MS & my arms are my weakest area lately, but I’d like to strengthen up all over. Between kiddos & fatigue, I’d like to keep it under 30 minutes. Thanks all!
22 minute hard corps, what I’m doing right now, involves a lot of upper strength moves. It also involves a lot of other muscles I never knew I had lol! Plus the workouts are 22 minutes with an additional 10 minute workout that is optional if you choose to do it after the initial 22. I have a toddler so I know time is of the essence! The 21 day fix is great but I also tried Hammer & Chisel (another Beachbody program) earlier this year and LOVED it! My husband and I both had so much definition in our shoulders and upper bodies and he lost a ton in his waist. The workouts are from 22-40 minutes but there are 12 different videos for 8 weeks so you don’t get bored. I sometimes cut the 40 minute ones a little short if I needed to – most of them were the cardio ones.
I’d try ChaLEAN Extreme. It’s a great strength training workout with plenty of upper body moves. They do push over 30 minutes, but once you’re used to them, you can easily do them in less time. It’s also a 5-day per week program instead of 6 like a lot of other BB programs, so a little easier to manage. If you sign up for a free BB On Demand trial, the whole program is on there and you can try it out.

Is this the same program you can buy with BB? Is equipment needed? In a gym kind of person but going out on maternity leave soon, so trying to think of something I can do in a short amount of time home with a newborn. But I don’t want to spend a fortune either.
This is the beach body program and you don’t need any equipment for it besides a yoga mat if you want one. It’s pretty intense though.
