I believe Costco offers this service for about $20.

Check with your local library. My library has a designated room where you can transfer VHS to DVD and scan your prints to turn them into digital photos for free.

A friend of mine bought this last year, she’s not technology incline so I helped her. It was pretty simple to do and once I showed her how to do the first one she was able to do more on her own without problems. Home movies she had on vhs is now safely preserved digitally and on DVDs. I would buy this for myself if I had vhs tapes I wanted preserved. The only downside is u do need a vhs player.

Thanks so much for the helpful feedback Rebecca! Glad to hear how easy it was to do!

I just read a ton of the reviews and I bought it. Most of the negative reviews are from 2012 and this software has been updated since then. The 2016 reviews are great for the most part; I know my dad will love this for a father’s day present!

      Awesome! Thanks for sharing Liz!

My question is do you need a laptop with a CD/DVD tray? Most don’t have them anymore…

    • Rebecca S

You can buy a portable cd/DVD tray if your laptop doesn’t have one to burn your movies to dvd, unless u just want your movies to be digital.

Does anyone know if you can burn Hi8 tapes to DVD with this? If so, how?

    • Lisha

I do not have this product, however it states so in Collin’s OP.
