Any idea how this rates safety wise compared to more reputable brands such as Recaro or Diono?
all seats that are on the American market actually pass the same safety tests. some have added EPS foam for side impact protection but otherwise, as long as the seat is installed properly and fits the child properly, it is just as safe as more expensive brands. Safety1st brand is quite reputable as well actually, just not as pricey and may not have all the bells and whistles as a Diono or Recaro. Car-seat.org would be a great place to find out more details on the reviews of this seat and they’ll also have the specs so you know how high the top harness slots are and things like that which are important to know how long a seat may fit a child. just type the name into the search bar.

I have 4 of this car seat in the Plumeria pattern (2 girls in 2 cars). It is by far my favorite seat and I have used it with my 4 month old since she was born and my tall (40in) 3 year-old fits comfortably in hers.
