These will NOT work on a smartphone, tablet or modern, single-plug, laptop. There are separate plugs for the audio and the mic. From teh Logitech website: “Color-coded 3.5 mm plugs” and “Works with Windows®. (Not for use with Apple® computer hardware.) Sound card with 3.5 mm microphone-in and audio-out ports.”
