will this work on beer cans? I wanted to cut the top off a 24 oz Heineken beer can and use the top for a lid.

    • justinbiebersmom

Well.. as far as i am concern ..That is not a problem at all . it’s gonna work on your beer cans…i suppose so

  5. Megan_lee

Does this opener leave tiny metal slivers on the edge of the can?

  6. lynn

will these work on cans with pull tab tops so many cans come with now?

    • Ally

It might. How it works is it separates the glue from the top part of the can. This is not the same safety can opener but you’ll see how it basically works. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLQv2Rvb-UY
What I will say about these is that over time they tend to get difficult to open the can with. My Mom had one for many years and I’m neutral on these b/c yes it does get the lid off without a sharp edge, but it can be much harder to crank than a regular can opener. On the bright side you can use the can lids for a lot of craft projects for kids like my Mom did. We use to make Christmas ornaments out of the non-sharp lid parts.

I love these kinds. I cannot open a can with the older style openers for some reason. I have tiny hands and these are so easy to use!
