Does anyone know if the Limit on the penny deals is per transaction or per member?
It’s per transaction, just have to spend the $5 min each transaction
I went to 2 different stores and it was per member per day.
how does the rebate work on the paper…do I have to send something in or is it automatic with my rewards card?
I’m wondering this as well…
I just added the rebate details to the post! Hope that helps! 🙂
What’s the limit on the rebate?
Limit 3 Nicole! 🙂
I’ve done rebates through staples, no problem. It’s quick and easy. Office Depot, on the other hand, is much more difficult to work with. Last summer, they had a deal for free Avery sticker labels after rebate. I bought 4 of them, which was the limit, and spent $40 oop. I filled out the form on the receipt, mailed it in, and waited. And waited. And waited. Finally 3 months later, I received a post card in the mail saying the rebate was denied. No reason. I called, waited on hold for 20 minutes, and the guy told me that the post card was sent in error and that I would indeed be receiving my rebate. Finally, 2 months later, I received the check in the mail. It should not take phone calls, time, and 5 months to get a rebate. Since then, I’ve steered clear of Office Depot rebates. Just a word to the wise. I could have been an anomaly but it’s still frustrating.
Same here, did a rebate and it took them 5 months to cut the check. You fill out the form on the receipt and mail it in then the wait begins lol 😂
Thanks for sharing your experience Caitlin!
Hard to believe that Office Depot / Office Max rebates still require you to fill out forms and mail them in rather than submit online. I agree that Staples rebates are much quicker and efficient. Unfortunately, all Staples in my area closed and I can only shop online. So many good deals are in store only 🙁
Can we only use the rebate money in store or do we get a check?
Except when you get there the shelves will be empty. NO penny deals in sight….total waste of time.
I agree, at least in Bristol VA.
I went on Monday and they had all the penny deals and lots of them. The key is going on Monday.
I went Monday in MD and the store had no penny items left. The only 25 cent items they had were the Caryola crayons.
I went on Sunday at 2 (2!) and the were already out of the mini staplers.
Just thought I’d mention that you can check availability online using your store’s zip code before you head out and waste time at a store that has no stock left. I know those things aren’t always right, but they at least give you an idea if the store has ANY of the items you want.
Thanks so much for the helpful feedback Mel!
My Office Depot said they get a truck daily. I typically go as the store opens in the AM and they are stocked.
Great tip Marie! Thanks for sharing!
Be advised: Last few penny items remained at our store…checked with staff and then checked the sku and they matched shelf tag and were marked 1 cent…however (sigh) rang up incorrectly at $1 each. 💰
Office Max always had great one penny deals that would never be in stock. I guess the merger had Office Depot adopting that practice.
The cashier said the rebate is automatic. No rebate form printed for me
Same here!
I thought the paper was a bonus reward not a rebate. You shouldn’t have to do anything
Love Staples rebates you actually get a check and very easy. Only takes a few seconds to fill out the form online.
At my local Office Max they let me order for the same price anything that was out of stock in the store ship free to my house. hth
Sweeeet!
