   We have this and love it! Sometimes the scraps sit in there for a week and you cannot smell anything. We empty it out into our large compost bin outside once or twice a week.

   How hard is the lid to get off and on? I have arthritis so I need something that would not require being real strong.

  It lifts off real easy. The only time I have trouble is when the compostable bags you can line it with cause some friction.
