They have an awesome price on Master locks too, the colorful ones for school/gym lockers or footlockers in college, can’t beat that!
How much were the Master Locks? Do you know the UPC for the type you purchased?
TIA
Sweet! Thanks for sharing Rosa!
I stopped at office max today in our area. They were sold out of all the penny items and wouldn’t get any more this week. Very disappointing. Everything else was pretty over priced.
Ours was wiped out yesterday as well. Another shipment Friday but no guarantee if they will get more in. Wish they stocked better.
Me to I was there about 1 after they opened and everything was out. I saw alot of people checking out with more then the limit.
Same here. I went early Sunday afternoon. They said there was technically no limit, so if you were there when they opened you could get a ton of penny items…but sold out fast!!
I did the paper last week.. How do I do the rebate?
Wondering the same thing. I thought it would be automatic but this post says”submit.” Totally new to the Office Max rewards as of last week.
Yes, how do u do the rebate? I did this deal last week. Thought it was automatic and that I didn’t need to fill out a form.
It’ll show up in your OfficeDepot/max online acct. I think the last time I did a reward, it showed up like 2 wks after my purchase. Then you can print out the reward or have the cashier scan the upc on your phone.
Thanks. That is what I was hoping.
I got the swiss gear backpack. Perfect for my Kindergarden 🙂 also picked up all the penny items except the erasers. Almost all sold out yesterday.
Glad you could score some great items on the cheap!
I was told that I could only purchase 3 items total for the $0.01 promotion.
No you can get 3 of each item…worked for me this week and last week with no issues!
You missed the pencil sharpeners for a penny on your list… This was actually on my son’s supplie list so very excited!
Me too! So 16 items for $1.15
Ours was completely sold out too.
Darn!
Missed out on the erasers. The spot where they were stocked was very small…like there weren’t many to begin with. I appreciate the deals, but I wish they were available to more than a few people.
I was wondering the same thing about the “rewards” from last week that were supposed to generate with the purchase if a ream of paper. My account says that last week’s purchase only gave me 6% towards a $10.00 reward. I’m a little confused too!
after my experience on saturday trying to get the penny deals, i dont know if i will be going back. worst shopping experience ever!
So sorry to hear that Tori! 🙁
This is my first year buying school supplies and do to various things going to the store won’t be an option until school starts. I was wondering is there ever any good deals online for supplies?
I saw a lady on you tube with tons of the items from last week.I was like wow.She must have done alot of transactions and such.Last week i went on saturday i missed out on the staplers no big deal. That isn’t on my kids supply list or the pencil box.I did want the papermate pens that were one buck but i didn’t see them.Anyway i hope to find the glue sticks my 5 year old soon to be 6 year old son has 24 of them on his list.I’m trying to get to the store today or tomorrow.
For the first time instead of Elmers I purchased the Scholastic glue sticks (both purple and blue label) last year for my boys. They were at a great stock up price then too. Unfortunately, after the glue dried whatever it was holding together fell apart. My middle schooler had to maintain two Interactive Student Journals (one for Science and the other for History) which he turned in each grading period for a notebook check and resulting grade. He was consistently docked for incomplete journals due to missing illustrations and examples. Needless to say he was upset and disturbed by the fact that he knew he put them in but they were obviously MIA. By the 3rd of 4 grading opportunities we found his illustrations on the bottom of his backpack under the numerous other books he had to lug around. Thankfully, I had a couple of the Elmers glue sticks laying around. He now refuses to use Scholastic at all. My elementary schooler had the same experience. Don’t know if it was bad batch or if the quality was simply poor. Check the adhesive integrity of the glue before tossing your receipts.
I agree about the scholastic glue not being very good, I had picked up some last year to have on hand as extras. When I opened them towards the end of the year, they were either dried out or hard to use/not very sticky! As a lower elementary teacher, I normally ask for the larger Elmer’s glue sticks. They are awesome and kindergarteners don’t use it all in 2 uses. = ) I love the littles. Good luck to your son this coming school year! Amazon has a pack of 30 Elmer’s glue sticks for $9.89…just FYI.
I went at 10:30 on Sunday so 30 minutes after they opened. I was fortunate to get the penny deals but was trying to find some of the dollar deals and they said they sold out already. The store wasn’t busy so I’m not sure how many items they have or at least put out for the deals.
Me to I was there not to long after opened and all were gone. But did notice alot of people were buying more then the 3 limit and the lines were full. Wish they had more but was told maybe within the week.
I went on Sunday both weeks shortly after opening. My store was enforcing the limit of 3, but most was out of stock. Was told by employee that they indeed had the items in the back, and just hadn’t stocked shelves yet. I asked when to check back and was told sometime later in the week. Very disappointing. Not worth wasting gas and time chasing penny deals at my store.
I went today and I must say the Swiss Gear Backpacks that are $10, the quality is terrible. They are made of very thin material that will fall apart. I had ordered one online, but once it’s delivered it’s going back. I’ll get my son a nike one instead for $10 more. I was able to purchase all the items listed above except the pencil sharpeners. I even had them price match the crayola colored pencils and Markers to staples for $.97! They were $2.50 each at Office Depot.
Sorry to hear you did not care for the Backpacks 🙁 Thanks for the honest feedback!
My store had people waiting Sunday morning for them to open and were sold out of almost everything in minutes. The employees told me they only stocked about 7 or 8 packages of the zebra pens ($1.00) and that they were not going to stock anymore until after the sale. I think it is just a ploy for the store to get you in there and spend more money than you intended. I think it is ridiculous to advertise those kind of deals and only stock a small amount for the first 1/2 dozen people who claw their way in to get it.
Oh wow! So sorry things were sold out so quickly 🙁
Can you do the ream of paper deal last week and this week?
Had same experience as many of you!
Went a couple hours after opening and they were sold out, then cled another store today closer to my work and they had the penny items and was surprised to see they had plenty to go around even for a monday! The thing i noticed is that they are allowing customers to buy more than 3 if they have they’re children.
The only thing I didn’t find was the erasers, but will be looking for them tomorrow at another store, and totally forgot the sharpeners! Hoping they have at the other store.
Thanks
Again what we don’t use we will be donating to school for kids that don’t bring supplies.
I went today, and also went last Monday for those penny and $1 deals. Everything was in stock both times, except the $1 pens. The organization was confusing but the employees were very helpful, and tracked down the items for me. Also, I heard a manager saying that “they” didn’t send them enough of anything, so remember it is not the store or employees faults if items aren’t available at these sales, corporate decides.
I went to the Bohemia, NY store today. They were fully stocked on all of the penny deals as well as the other sale items. Store was empty. Limit of 3 for my 3 kids makes me one happy mama. Thank Collin!
I went on Sunday shortly after they opened and was able to get all the penny deals. Yay! They even had some staplers left with the sign saying they were a penny. I suspected it was wrong but put three into my basket to see if they would ring up for a penny. They were $3 but when I mentioned the sign was still up, they were kind enough to honor the sign anyways and gave me them for a penny each. I did hear the cashier walkie another employee though to ask him to take down the sign so guess I was the only lucky person that day!
i am confused on their office depot rewards. For the reams of paper, you are supposed to get that money back in rewards. However when I log into my rewards it says that I need to have 1000 points in order to get the rewards, otherwise those points go away at the end of the month. Last week I bought 3 reams thinking that in the future I would be receiving reward money to use on other items at some point (I think it takes about a month or so to get the reward), however now that I am looking I don’t think I will be getting those reward points/dollars$ because I need to have 1000 points by the end of the month for it to work. Does anyone know how their rewards work, maybe I am mis-interpreting their reward program?
I’m surprised some people are able to get more than the 3 item limit on any one particular item. Seems that my OD has the computer programmed to automatically charge normal price for item qty over 3. I tried to get 3 of each of the diff types of glue sticks I saw and was getting excited since last year I was able to get 3 of two diff types; however, this year it seems one can get only 3 total any combo 😕 Anything extra comes out $1.50 each
Well I saw people doing different transactions to do it thats why the lines were taking soo long. And they were letting teachers take up to 10 according to the Manager. I went 2 times and still all empty all I have found are the Sharpeners everything else gone.
Question: Can you make these purchases on multiple trips or will your “household” member account not allow this to happen?
You can do multiple.
Thanks to the person who posted a few days ago about buying a gift card to reach the $5.00 minimum spending limit. It worked beautifully this week. Next week, I’ll use the gift card to purchase an item for $5.00. Thanks for saving me $5.00!
Thank you for this reminder… I wasn’t able to go til today…. ( with reading the comments I had plenty of doubt there would be nothing left) but I went anyway…. I was able to score everything on the list plus the pencil sharpeners…. My $5 purchase was 3 pk of puffs ($4) and a calendar ($1).
This was a great deal… Looking forward to tomm deals. Thank you for all your hard work…. Your site is the best 😊
