TERRIBLY OFFENSIVE AND INSENSITIVE NAME. WILL NOT PURCHASE!!!!!!

    • Amanda

I’m pretty sure the name refers to the size of the backpack not its intended wearer. 🙂

Anyway, free country. Don’t buy it. I got a great deal and am happy about that.

      • Melanie M

LOL! Too funny Amanda! I agree, pretty sure the maker thought you could put a lot of things in it. Pretty sure they didn’t sit and think, “Let’s see, maybe we should come up with a really cruel name. Yeah, that should sell a lot.”

    • Frecklelily

I’m assuming you don’t eat FatBoy ice cream sandwiches either 🤔

    • Tracey

I was thinking the same about the name but after reading the reviews, I think it is because the back pack is heavy and durable.

  2. Angela

    Omg
    I was thinking the same!

  3. Julie

Highly offensive? In what way?? I must be out of the loop.

    • Dice

I agree, they named it that because of the capacity of the backpack and not to offend anyone.

      • Megan

That never even came to mind for me. Oh my goodness. This age of everything is offensive and “political correctness” has gotten way out of hand.

        • Julie

That’s EXACTLY what I was thinking!! *rolling eyes*

  4. Michelle

Really? I guess if they called it waistline challenged you would be ok with it.

    • Melanie M

Ha! I love this comment section today.

    • Marshajean77

I actually think a fat boy is a type of motorcycle as well… So maybe intended for motorcycle riders for
      It’s durability???

      • Kelly

It is 🙂 Just refers to a bigger style. Nothing offensive.

  5. Dice

The model Curve backpacks in Tropic tribe and Aquamarine colors + 2 more colors are back in stock again for extra 50% off too!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

  8. connie

Would these work great for a middle schooler. They need to carry binders in their back pack.

    • Dice

Yes, I think so. Good size!

  9. Megan

Got one of each color! Thank you so much Collin for sharing this. I have an almost 5 year old and an almost 3 year old where on certain outings we still need a bag for snacks, diapers, toys etc.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Happy you could snag them each one Megan! You’re very welcome!

  10. Diana

I’m fat, but my kids aren’t so I’m not offended LOL

      • Megan

Lol!!!! Much love coming your way ladies!!!! Thanks for sharing your sense of humor!

    • Amanda

Darn it all though, cause your thin kids can’t have this backpack and neither can you since you’re not a boy. 😉

  16. Elizabeth

Thank you so much for posting this earlier in the week Collin. I was able to get 5 backpacks for our school drive and saved $315!! I also took advantage of your Children’s Place post and got 6 backpacks for just over $60! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to get quality bags for our local kids.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How generous of you Elizabeth! You are very welcome! Super cool you could grab some awesome savings on backpacks for the kids in your area!

  17. Priya

Thank you Collin! I would love some help from any readers. I am looking for a backpack for my 4 year old who is starting Pre-K. Would either of these High Sierra backpack work or are they too big? Any other backpack suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    • Sue O

For Pre-k I would just stick with a cheapy from Walmart, you can find cute ones for about $10. They don’t use them all that much in Pre-k

  18. Megan

I ordered this for my five year old during the last sale, just received today. It’s perfect for him, and it would have been great for pre-k. It’s a regular sized backpack, which his school asks us to send with him, not a little backpack. The nice thing about it is that I can cinch it up so that the compartment closest to his back collapses a little bit. It’s less overwhelming on his body that way. He likes the extra zippers and compartments on the front.

That’s just my initial impression. We had him use Daddy’s old Jansport last year, which worked, but the big main compartment was not as ideal as these separate compartments with adjustable straps. I think he’ll grow into this nicely.

One thing that was less than ideal–the straps are a little wide. My guy is long and lean though. Still, he didn’t seem bothered by it, so it will work fine.

    Hope that helps!

    • Priya

Thank you so much Megan! Your feedback was so helpful! My 4 year old daughter is long and lean as well so I was wondering about the straps. I’ll probably go ahead and order it. Thanks again!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the helpful review! So good to know how well it fits!

  19. Nora

No wonder the next generation is doomed because everything is offensive! I have always thought USA stands for freedom of speech and all. But after living here for almost 10 years everything is offensive here. SMH

  20. Kim

CLEAROUT code not working for me 🙁

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Bummer! Looks like all of the backpacks above are Out of Stock now 🙁

  21. Kristin

I can enter the code but it won’t allow me to finalize my order…it appears that the blue backpack is out of stock.

    • Dice

      Likewise 😞

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn! I am seeing that now as well 🙁

  22. Anya

I would like one for my son but shipping in Honolulu is not free 🙁

  23. Natalie

None of these backpacks are in stock : (

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Bummer! I am finding that as well 🙁

  24. Sarah

I forgot to order this the other day. After seeing the comments, I didn’t have much hope. I tried once and the code didn’t work. I went through the clearance link, and was able to order it no problem!!! Yeah for great deals 😄😄

    • Natalie

Whoo Hoo! Thanks Sarah! I was finally able to order two of them, the fatboy for $14.99 and Curve backpack for $12.49.
