    Thanks Collin, Got one.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Awesome! You’re welcome!

There is a better deal at Target. I saw that Amazon and Walmart dropped to $88 last week but Target currently has the color version (84 Plus CE) for $89.99 from $129.99 originally. And with your red card and additional 5% savings= $85.49! Much better deal IMO. I got it on special for $80 last week at Meijer for the color edition.

    • Elaine

Thank you for the tip. I think I like the extra 5% off with the Red Card, so I will go with Target.

As a high school teacher I can honestly say these are so worth the price and convenience of getting your kiddos one. I know it’s pricey but you’ll get tons of use from it and then can still sell it when your child no longer needs it at the end of high school/college

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the helpful feedback Jamie! Good to know!

I will say I still have my TI-82 from the early 90s! Might not recall how to do much beyond basic math with it but I still use it!

      • pandoraaddict

I still have older TI’s too, working well. If you’re visual, a screen helps when doing even the basics.

      • Elaine

Me too!!! Still going strong! 🙂

    • Jacque

As a former high school math teacher, I too recommend this calculator. I’m amazed that this piece of technology seems to never get outdated.

    • Lindak

I’m a former TI employee and have calculators from the 70s that I still use. Great company!

If you live near a Meijer, these calculators are a great deal this week. Clip the $30 Mperks coupon and receive two catalinas- one for $30 and another for $40 ONYO. I believe there is also an Mperks event for 10% off general merchandise this weekend, too.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh cool! Thanks for sharing Melanie!

    • Heather

I see in the ad the one for 40.00, what is the other 30.00 catalina for? Thank you so much

      • Heather

Where is the $ 30 Mperks? I didn’t see it

    • Bethany

Where is the $30 Mperks coupon?

I agree Target’s deal is much better and they look so cool. Less bulkier too.

For those that don’t have or don’t want to spend $80+ on a calculator, check out Craigslist. I bought one that was like new for $20! I only needed it for my final college math class and wasn’t looking to spend a fortune. As others said, these last a long time so purchasing used shouldn’t be an issue. If you don’t want to deal with the hassle of Craigslist, eBay also has alot in the used section, some better priced than others.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for sharing your experience Heather! Good to know!

    • Aleshia

Thank you for the tip! I was able to score the ti 83 for 50$ gently used. They had some as low as 23$ but without the manual and the covers.

Regarding the deal at Walmart, keep in mind that if you haven’t used the app to make a purchase yet, Walmart is offering a $10 e-gift card if you spend more than $75 in the app making the calculator itself $10 cheaper.

    • Lindak

Where does that $10 show up? I thought i’d get an email about it, but nothing

      • Lukas

It says it will be mailed to you by 08/12.. Probably some patience needed..

What Math classes use these? I think I just used it in trig and higher way back when, but my son is in Geometry this year. Will he need one?

    • Sarah C

It’s not essential in Geometry, but still useful. It will be very helpful for him next year in Algebra 2.

  9. Stacy

I just went to Walmart and they had the TI-84 Plus CE (color edition) for $88.
