FREE First Day of School Printable Signs
Are you and your kiddos excited and ready for Back to School?! Want to snap a cute photo to remember the day? Use these FREE printable signs as a cute photo prop to capture the excitement! I’ve designed 16 signs using this fun and stylish watercolor school supplies clip art with grades ranging from preschool all the way to college. Enjoy!
This is such an easy way to document these important milestones. To use just print the grade or grades you need for your kids. You could even put them in picture frames first, or use as is. Print these now so you’re prepared ahead of time and not scrambling the morning of the big day. That usually happens to me! 😉

Happy First Day of School everyone! Have a wonderful school year.
Silly question, but what is the difference between pre-K and preschool? My daughter will start preschool this year and will go to kindergarten next year. So is she going to pre K or preschool? TIA
I think the terms are interchangeable, but wanted cover everyone in case. Also some day cares or preschools take very young kids like age 3. So you would be good with Pre-K ๐
My son was 3 last year and went to preschool. He is 4 this year and will go to pre k. He is 5 in December and next year is kindergarten.
I would say PreK is more likely the year right before kindergarten.
Preschool can be different ages. Pre-k is pre kindergarten for kids about to go or not quite ready. Most probably five but miss the cut off. My son was in the fours this year and turned five. The next level is pre-k.
In my state preK is optional but Kindergarten is a must, can’t be skipped like preschool.
In my area, itโs A-K or Alt-K, for alternative kindergarten. Then the child goes on to kindergarten the following year. Wish I had had a nice 35mm camera or digital camera and these creative ideas and the Internet back in the early โ80s when my oldest was born. It was grueling at times to wait for the pix to be turned in, developed, picked up and then see how many didnโt turn out. You canโt relive/recapture those moments.
I think there the same.
The college one comes up at 12th grade
Oops – thanks Nicole! It’s fixed ๐
Thanks Lina!
I was going to post the same thing.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
My grandson will start the 2nd grade this year and I am unable to see him off because they live 4 hours away, I’ve had him with me since mid June when school got out so I will have his mom to take a picture for me with this print out, I plan to download the other grades and save them for future grades, thank you so much for this!!!!
Awesome idea to save all the years! Wish I’d had these for K and 1st grade. Thanks
Thanks Malinda ๐
Why, oh, why these weren’t “invented” 16-17 years ago, when my oldest son started school! He’s now 20 and a junior in college๐. We did it the old-fashioned way- writing at the back of the pictures.
Oh man, these are SO cute!! Would have loved to have been able to use these for my girls. They went back super early this year on August 4th! ๐
Thanks Heather! Hope they have a great school year ๐
Thanks! This is so cute! If anyone knows where to find something similar for the last day of school that would really be awesome!!
I do this with my son every year and at the same spot ( by the same three) so we can see the difference in the age and growth. I make my own sign, he will be fourth grader this fall.
Thank you! Just printed one ๐
Sure Kara!
fun idea. thank you for sharing
Sure Lynne! ๐
I make a “home made” sign each year and take a pic of my son at the bus stop on the first day of school. Thank you for these adorable signs.
Sure! And that’s a cute tradition ๐

Will you be making Last Day of School ones too?

I used these precious signs in August for our first day. Do you have coordinating Last Day signs I could print for our last day on Friday?
