I am not sure how Sam’s Club defines a new member as the terms simply state “Join as a new Sam’s Savings® member”. However, I would assume that if you have an expired membership, you would be able to sign up for this offer. You could always contact your local club for more information.
I’m pretty confident I’ve read somewhere that “new members” are considered to be someone who hasn’t held a membership within the past 6 months…my mom and I switch back and forth being the primary/secondary and I think this is the deal for her – my membership is up in October!

I was able to get this deal, even though I currently have an active valid membership. My current membership expires in September.
I did use another email address – but all of the current membership information was the same (ie home address, phone # and secondary card holder)
Last time they said new members, I was able to get a membership even though my membership had just ended the week before. They didn’t question it when I got my new id card or anything.

I called because I haven’t received my gift card yet, but I got the free items on my card. She could see that it was accepted, it’s just pending. She said wait a few hours and I should receive it. So if anyone else is worrying, it should be coming shortly!

I got this deal a couple of months ago. You should get a confirming email. Take it to your local Sam’s and show it to Customer Service when you get your new membership card. Be sure to let them know as a friendly reminder that you are entitled to a free membership upgrade. They get pretty inundated with these deals that their system can’t seem to keep up. This happened to me and my local Sam’s was very helpful/accommodating.

I’m so glad this is available again because I didn’t get it the last time you posted it. My plus membership expired in March, and I normally pay $100.00 each year to renew it (the only incentive is a $10.00 gift card I receive after I use a coupon from my coupon for education book). I wish they would offer better incentives for loyal customers who renew year after year. I figured if I waited awhile I could start a new membership with all the great bonuses. I chose the in store option by entering my email address, and the sign up code to use in store came through immediately. 😀 I really love the early shopping feature of the plus membership because I get off at 7am and can get in and out (not crowded or long lines) before I go home. I also love earning $10.00 for every $500.00 that I spend (you can only cash out once a year, and once you do that will be your anniversary date) because you can actually get it in cash.

How do they show up? How can you check? Picked up the new cards today and got the email with e card but don’t know how to check for the food items.
Anybody know anything about the coupon savings? I got a membership the last time Colin posted but didn’t get anything about the instant savings. Is it a special thing?
It’s basically like e-coupons automatically loaded to your membership card (72 hour wait for new cards to be loaded) and the card is required to check out and savings will be automatic when you purchase a product with a coupon on it. Aside from individual-specific offers (the free pizza and cookies on this for instance), most deals are posted on the price tags in the aisles so I don’t even really look at the coupon books tbh (you can also see them attached to your card on your online account, and can sort by “discount high to low”). HTH!

I currently have a Sams club membership which just renewed back in July so I called club membership to ask about this and they told me all I need to do is go into the club and cancel the mbrship I currently have and start a new one but since my membership is on my Sams Mastercard they would have to cancel and reissue a new MC, everything including the cashback I have accrued would transfer over to the new card, so that sounds like a plan to me.
Wanted to warn you…on sams website in fine print it says…Cash back rewards are forfeited if the Sam’s Club® MasterCard ®account is not in good standing, if the Sam’s Club Membership terminates or lapses, or if the Cash Back earned in a calendar year is less than $5.00.
FYI…..Canceling a credit card will drop your credit score. This happened to me at Sam Club!
I did the online deal, but how do I get the physical membership card?
You have two options for your membership card:
1. Download the Sam’s Club app and use a virtual card (available on the App Store & Google Play)
2. Visit your local Sam’s Club to pick up a card. (Remember to bring your government issued ID)
I signed up by email. Can I wait until Sept 1 to actually go onto sams club and pay for this deal? Or will they have run out of pizza, cookies and salad?
I want to wait till Sept because my current membership runs out Aug 31st and because I want to get the full month. Memberships expire at the end of a month, regardless of which day of the month you join.

Are you sure about that? I am asking because I was at Sam’s last Sunday and when I scanned my card a message saying that my membership was going to expire on 08/24/16 and if I wanted to renew it. I knew it was expiring in August but I didn’t know when. This deal came in perfect timing and I had the previous membership from Colin’s post from last year.

Make sure if you do this in club that you have the site ready on your phone. I am there now having a hard time to get them to do this deal, they’re saying it’s not for the plus membership and don’t want to do it!
I have an active Sams membership that expires in September. I was able to sign up for this new one offer with no problems.
You can get an additional $10 gift card when you pay for the membership with your Discover card. Go on their website and search Sam’s Club under Discover Deals to get the promotional code.
The terms and conditions of the Discover Deal say that it isn’t valid with any other promo, so I don’t think you could use it as well as the promo Sam’s is offerring
Check the fine print and use those free food coupons asap, I made the mistake of saving (so I thought) they free pizza and at the time free cupcakes for my son’s bday only to find out the coupons are only good for like 7-14 days.
Did the run out of the run out of pizza, cookies and salad? I tried getting this at the store but they said it’s not for the plus membership so I didn’t do it there.

I signed up about 3 weeks ago, before this deal. I went back in and asked if they would apply this deal to my less than three week old membership, and the cashier just gave me a $20 gift card. I would have liked the upgraded membership and free food, but it was better than nothing!
I used the Mastercard Deal earlier this month ($20 Credit with a Regular Membership), but just saw this deal on Facebook.
