What cities are featuring these deals ?

  2. rosana

I went to my target yesterday and it was only 30% but hardly anything left. I wonder what happened to everything ;/

  3. Tricia Martin

I guess it is that time again at many stores. Not only are some of these supplies great to donate to teachers for their classrooms, many of the art supplies would make great gifts for children in need at Christmas time.

    • dblD-amber

Agreed I’m a hs teacher and know how it is to spend for the classroom that is why we donate $100 to our kids current teacher each year to help with the burden

    • jill

My target does donates unsold clearance items.

      • momo

Clearanced Target tagged items that dont sell are donated to our local Goodwill & Salvation Army. They sell the item for more than the price on Target clearance tag sometimes! -__-…

  4. Kate

This is when I school supplies for the rest of the yr. But this yr there just dont seem 2b as many deals as yrs past.

  5. Renee

Our school district went to K-5 all school supplies were covered. Parents online need to get a backpack. Our target in Vancouver WA had a lot left over but not good deals yet. I think that had a lot to do with the excess they have. Wish it was sooner I have a 6th, 7th, & 8th grader. I missed the free supplies

    • DeAnna

Our schools started back on July 27th!! We are in Indianapolis.

      • Andrea

WOOOOOW! When did your kids get out?

  6. Vivienne

School doesn’t even start for another week and a half for us.

    • thanks!

Ours started two days ago now.

      • Viet

        Mine starts in 3 weeks.

    • Cathy

Nice! We started this past Monday. Been a looong week. Seems wrong to start before labor day, lol.

    • LF

Must be nice! We started Aug 11!! It gets earlier each year because they want time to prepare for state (OH) testing. We get out around Memorial Day. Ticks me off!

      • Just Me

Is that the real reason? My Ohio district claims it’s because it’s hotter in June than August.
Your reason makes a bit more sense. My son has never brought home a text book but this year he has a social studies book that says its in preparation for the standardized test. Couldn’t remember exact wording

        • LF

Yes it’s true and that’s nuts, it’s way hotter in Aug! Our district told us that and I have lots of friends and family that teach. It may be different for other districts though!

      • ohiogirl

My kiddos are too young for school yet, but I’m not a big fan of the Ohio testing. Many teachers I have spoke to, tell me their hands are tied as far as teaching goes. They’re responsibility is to instruct the kids so they will score high. Higher scores = more $ for the District from the state. Please correct me, if I’ve been misinformed.

        • JA

Pretty much. It’s the same in PA. It’s like the school year revolves the PSSAs.

        • LF

I agree, not a fan and I’ve had teachers tell me the same thing including my sister who teaches! It also seems like it changes all the time.

        • Just Me

You can opt out of the tests. Depends on the school/ district/ principal but you may have some push back saying you can’t.
As for the 3rd grade reading test which they have to pass, the district has an alternative test to AIR or PARCC. I forget what it’s called this year. Ohio

    • MrsB

Our school started August 3rd…another one in our area started July 31st. We do have a week long fall break, but I would rather have it in summer!

  7. erin

Yikes. I haven’t even gotten my kids school supply lists yet. We don’t start until after labor day.

    • Amy

It might be a regional thing. I was in my Target yesterday and there was no clearance sale going on, but the shelves were looking empty.

    • Heidi

I don’t know why all schools don’t do that. most kids in my school miss Friday before labor day because their family goes on vacation. The kids at my school started Aug 17th! I just can’t believe it. the students don’t really have one normal week all school year. the teachers have 6 in service days, they get 4, 2 hr dismissals because the teachers have it in their contract to get extra time to get report cards ready. They also get other days off for various things. The office personal was complaining about how they wish they could take all of these things out of their contract. I think the kids should start the day after labor day and end the Friday before Memorial day. Oh well what do I know. I’m just a stupid parent that loves spending time with their kids during the summer.

      • Morgan

Imagine how us teachers feel I to would like a full summer off. I understand many people feel that we get a lot of day to do this and that but I personally feel I never get a break I teach hs and I don’t even have time to eat lunch between the kids and all the administration bs we have to do whatever free minutes I can find during the day I spend pumping breast milk I would love for any parent to come shadow one of us so they could truly unders t and how “easy” we have it

        • dblD-amber

Thanks Morgan I’m a hs teacher as well and too have a hard time finding time to pump you beat me to the reply and totally agree with your views just a babysitter huh lol

      • Abby

I totally agree with you. My son started August 10th and gets out at the end of May. It just seems like they barely have a summer now 🙁

        • Angela

If they get out the end of May they have all of June and July and the first almost full two weeks of August. My daughter got out mid June, and goes back September 6, so it’s really the same thing.

      • Cathy

We started the 22nd. I dreaded it. Loved having the summer with my son!

      • Bekka

In Michigan all schools start after Labor Day. They made it a law!

  8. Rochelle

No clearance on school supplies here yet either. And local schools all started this week. I’m thinking by Monday.

  9. Ozzie

But will it still be bogo 50 since the sale is a week

  10. Ringmaster1024

    Our schools started August 2nd

  11. Mal

I found a 16 pack of sharpies for 2.38, along with some other supplies. We have been in school since July 27…

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Great find!

  12. Martha

Nothing on sale yet in Hernando County, FL

  13. JA

We started yesterday, and nothing is on clearance yet. It’s pretty picked over though, so I hope I can grab the couple extra things they came home needing. My son needs a planner for his freshman seminar. Where do you think the cheapest would be? Would Dollar Tree have something like that?

    • ❤️my_lineman

My dollar tree in Kentucky had a variety of planners that were set up different ways so yes, I would definitely check them out if I were you!

  14. Stefanie

I went yesterday in central IL and didn’t see any clearance in the school supply area yet. Still regular prices. Schools here started this week or the week before, depending on the district.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn! Hopefully your store will begin to clearance their school supplies soon!

  15. Chelsea

So happy to be a MN teacher who starts after Labor Day! Move up here to the land of the lakes, summers are the best!

    • Amy

      Agree!

  16. Erika

I’m in Hernando County, Florida too Martha. Spring Hill to be exact. 😉

  17. Cindy

Think I’ll stop by my Target on Sunday and look this clearance along with the 10% off entire purchase mobile coupon.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Awesome! 😉 Happy shopping!

  18. H

No clearance in my target in VA

  19. Jackie

KS- I was there during the wk and there were no sales. So I’m assuming if it’s on clearance it would be 15-30% off right now and not 70% for us right now. I used to get some awesome deals a few years back but now it seams they don’t drop the prices and when they do there is nothing. They take the stuff and only leave a few items to put on clearance. 🙄

    • CJ

I totally agree with you. I used to find almost everything (lunch boxes, backpacks, supplies…etc) for the following school year each back to school clearance time. It was great. A lot of things are gone when they finally get down to 70%.

      • Jackie

I know! I even remember getting nice deals when it was 90% off. I remember that 6 years ago I got backpacks, lunch boxes, scissors etc for 90% off. Now when they have the 90% I think the only things left were glue sticks. It seams like when they start marking them to 70% even 30% they take the stuff out of the shelves. Not sure why they are doing that now when before (maybe 3 years ago) they weren’t 🙁. Still love my target❣

    • Liz Ob

They probably get more for donating them from tax writeoffs

  20. CJ

Here in Rochester, NY school doesn’t start until Sept. 6th. I was at Target last night and there is very minimal clearance and the very few items that were are only at like 15% – 30% off.

  21. Renee

Perfect for me, my daughters school doesn’t even start until next week.

  22. Amanda

Went to two targets in Columbus,OH area and nothing is on clearance yet. Some “dorm” items were half off though.

  23. Jess

Anyone in Fairfax county, VA seen clearance on school supplies yet?

  24. Beth

No clearance even started in Hagerstown,md

  25. Tracie

No clearance in central IA and school has started here

  26. Mimi

I went to my target today and the school supplies were only 30-50% off and most of the items I seen marked down I got cheaper on sale then clearance. One year at target I found com. notebooks marked down for 10cents and reg notebooks for 5cents I stocked up on that deal!

  27. Me

Any clearance prices in San Antonio TX??? TIA!!

  28. Amanda

In Ohio they were no sales on school supply yet.

  29. Vicky

No sales on B2S supplies here in Houston Tx.

  30. April
