Question: I have tried a few different wines. Always red and they always taste very dry. Can someone recommend what I should look for or is that just how wine is?
Some wine is dry, other sweet. Depends on the type of wine, not just red/white. Look up wine sweetness to get guides.
I don’t really like wines because most of the ones I’ve tried are bitter or dry. But at olive garden I tried one called roscato mosso dolce, it was sweet. I really liked it. I even bought a bottle later.
You should probably go wine tasting and decide. Every bottle bought in a grocery store is going to give you a head ache from crushing the seed. They all taste different than at the actual winery.
Thank you all for your help! I appreciate it 🙂
Leslie,
I agree with the trying wine to get what you are looking for. Also, in America, we treat wine as a beverage, not a condiment like most of the rest of the world does. You be surprised how if you pair a wine you find bitter with the right food, there is a wow factor. I actually work with Traveling Vineyard as a wine guide, and that is a huge part of what we do. We do in-home educational tastings.
Yes!!! Every time I was about to place an order I always said “I’ll do it tomorrow.” Then tomorrow always comes and the deal is over haha Today, I finally scored the deal (mostly because I’m out of wine) hehe
Happy you could snag it this time Kelsey! 😉
Thank you!!!! Such a great deal especially with no subscription. Just ordered 12 here. 🙂
You’re welcome! And I agree, I love that you don’t have to sign up for a monthly subscription and that it’s a one-time shipment. 😊
Unfortunately they sent me an email stating I picked the white wine package. I emailed them back stating I had wanted the mixed (moments after getting the confirmation). They emailed me today telling me it’s too late to change my order and it’s already on a truck but don’t have tracking info yet. Hopefully the wine is good, not impressed with their customer service (which is enough to not use them again). 🙁
So sorry to hear that Derek. Hoping you enjoy the wine order. If not, be sure to contact them again as they guarantee that you’ll love every wine you receive. If you don’t, they’ll send another selection at no charge or refund the bottle purchase price. Hope this helps! 1-888-661-1246
Thank you Collin. It is an amazing deal still. I reached back out to the company explaining my disappointment. This time the representative was very accommodating and they are sending out 6 bottles of the red. I will use the extra white as gifts. Wanted to share the positive outcome.
You’ve posted these before and I hesitated. But this seems like a deal too good to at least try. Ty Collin!
It’s a great deal! I hope you enjoy the wine as much as I have.
Has any actual wine drinkers(someone who doesn’t buy them at the grocery store and doesn’t mind spending over $100 on a bottle) tried this? A price tag means nothing, it can be good for $5 or bad for $100, but I don’t want 6 bottles of bad wine.
They’re ok. I mean if you’re willing to spend $100 on a bottle, it doesn’t hurt to have 6 for less than $40. Some of them were pretty decent but not sure you have much choice over what you get delivered. I ordered the last time and some of the wines were enjoyable!
I have not spent over $100 on a wine bottle but I love wine. I am not a fan of grocery store wine so hopefully I can give you a balanced review. I purchased this wine for my sisters graduation party because I knew there were different requests. I personally did not care for them. They served their purpose and everyone loved the variety but I would not buy them for myself. I purchased the mixed case. When I reviewed the bottles online they all sold for $15-$20 bucks.
In summary, it’s great to keep at the house for guests but I would rather purchase a Cabernet at a local wine store and get one I really love for my personal drinking.
This. Places like Club W (now Winc), Naked Wines, and a lot of these other trendy online wine clubs buy bulk juice, bottle it, slap a hip label on it and then pass it off as “premium” juice at a big discount. I’m not saying you can’t get a good wine for under $10, but you probably need to dig a little deeper to find truly great QPR wines.
Can always save them for holiday gifts if you decide they aren’t up to par! Lots of holiday parties coming up; no host is upset if you come with a bottle of wine in hand.
You should try Last Bottle. They have a wonderful selection with great discounts. https://www.lastbottlewines.com/invite/0de7d3655f943bfee7e5.html
Thanks for the shout out! We take great pride in sourcing the best QPR wines from our backyard here in Napa all the way to France, Italy, or wherever the wine trail takes us. We don’t want to knock clubs like these because they do introduce lots of people to a wide range of wines. However it’s pretty common practice for them to simply buy bulk juice, slap on a hip label, and sell it as premium wine at a discount. We have been in the industry for a LONNNNG time and know all the tricks of the trade. Places like Club W, the Wall St. Journal club, et al. probably do have some good wines but I doubt you’ll ever find their wines have actually been scored by critics (arguably not a final measure of quality, but still a good way to match your expectations) or made with the passion of a small family in the hills of Tuscany. Anyways, sorry for the lengthy reply, and thanks agai “lz” whoever you are 🙂
I’m going to try it out this time. Was hoping for some rave review from previous purchases but none of the above seem to be a repeat customer. Fingers crossed. I’ll certainly post if I liked the deal.
Collin does state there is a guarantee in the post 🙂
I bought the white 2 times and for the price they are decent. They didn’t suck nor were they my favorite bottle of wine. I did drink them and use some as gifts, they were $6. They send me other offers via email from time to time and I have purchased other cases from them. Ps: my husband loves the opener.
Thanks for the feedback Lisa! I sure do appreciate it! 😉
Super excited to try this deal 🙂
I love wine and I ordered 4 of the mixed cases the last time the deal was published. I bought 1 case, and received it fairly quickly, cracked open one of the reds and it was good. Chilled one of the whites and it was also decent. Ended up buying 3 more cases all at the same price. For 6.00 per bottle shipped – they are a GREAT deal. If there is one I dont care for, I just cook with it.
They also make great hostess gifts.
Ahh Jen I love that you reminded me about cooking with them if I didn’t like them for drinking.
First time ordering for me. $40 with tax for Maryland
I’m giving it a whirl!
Purchased yesterday and noticed that all of my credit card info was already saved prior to ordering. Today I received a couple of wine discount offer pop ups on my phone. Did this happen to anyone else? Hoping my info isn’t compromised for cheap wine.
Hoping they will be good gifts for my bridal party!
Do you know if I shipped the box to a friend as a gift, will the receipt be in the box showing how much I spent? Also, is there a way to send, with the wine, a note or card saying who the gift is from?
I have seen a deal on here before where you could get 12 bottles for under $80. I’m hoping they do that deal again. I can make spiced mulled wine, sangria etc with the not so great bottles.
I placed my order and saw the confirmation number but I didn’t get an email confirmation and it very weird there is no way to log into your account to see the order.
That happened to me too!
Does this deal expire? We just did another wine club so don’t need it right now, but wanted to snag this deal later. Thanks Collin!
Can you order more than one half case? Can I send one to a friend (gift) and purchase one for myself?
