DIY Glow in the Dark Pumpkins
Will you be decorating pumpkins soon?
If you’re looking for a unique Fall craft this year, check out these fun Glow in the Dark Pumpkins! I embellished craft store pumpkins in my example, but you could also use this method as a great no-carve way to decorate fresh pumpkins. All you need is this three dimensional glow in the dark craft paint and some creativity!
Glow in the Dark Pumpkins
Supplies Needed:
- Craft Pumpkins (or you may want to check your local Dollar Tree as they may have them for just $1) or Fresh Pumpkins
- Glow in the Dark 3D Craft Paint
Directions:
- Apply paints to pumpkins in any design or hand drawn doodle desired.
- Let dry.
Some fun ideas: Pumpkin faces, Polka Dots, Monograms, Stripes, Triangles, Spider Webs
Here is a photo of how it looks with the light off!
I just applied gold spray paint to my dollar tree craft pumpkins and the paint seems to have dissolved part of the pumpkin. They now gave a very pocked, bumpy surface. So be careful.
Way too cute!! My boys will love doing this!! Thanks Lina….you have the best ideas:)
Oh sure – have fun 😀
Thank you Lina what a fun craft. We homeschool so this will work perfect for our arts and crafts😊
Oh you’re welcome – have a great time! 🎃
My 6 year old would love this for her pumpkins to sit outside.
Great!
Such a neat idea!
Glad you like Lolie – thanks for reading 😀
My 14 y/o would love the spider pumpkin. Wondering if she has the dexterity and patience for it (but you could work on it s bit each day!)
Lina how does that pain work? Do you have to “charge” it with light before you turn the lights down or does it just glow as long as it it dark? Love this idea. Might try it this year. I know my 3 little ones will find it fun.
I “charged” it for a few seconds so it would be a little bolder for the photo. I did notice the yellow and green glowed the most! 😀 Fun project!
Great! Getting the yellow and green then. Thanks for the tip 😉 I love your creative ideas. Keep them coming please 👍
can you use the glow in the dark paint on an orange pumpkin too? as long as the paint color stands out enough on the orange pumpkin?
How did you take a photo of it in the dark?
My glow in the dark did not work at does it not work on real pumpkins gotf folk art glow paint
Try placing near bright light to “charge” it a bit. Also black lights help.
How long does it take to charge in sunlight
Wallmart did not have tulip glow in the dark paint so I got folk art glow paint
