does this mean there are no free legos to take home for the 1st 3 events? only for the last one
I’m curious too- it sounds like the take home is the last week. (But generally when there’s a Lego event there is a take home item)
YES.
GREAT post! THANK YOU!!! Perfect for my soon to be 10 year old son. I did a live chat with the representative from Toys R Us on their website and she confirmed these events will be at my local store. COOOOL!!!
You’re welcome! π
How often does ToysRUs do the free builds where kids get to take it home afterwards? Once a month? Thank you!
I’d say fewer. Maybe every few months. It’s pandemonium when they have them–I couldn’t imagine them doing them every month.
It sounds like only the last weekend is the make and TAKE. I’m sure they won’t take home the tallest tower one–that will probably just have each kid put 20 Legos on one store tower. I remember about 3-4 years ago there was a Haunted house one where they all helped “create” it, JT t was dumb because no one got to take anything home and it all stayed with the store! I will call and ask about the racecar though.
I do want to say (so I don’t sound so unappreciative nor greedy) that the captain America one was totally awesome! I was surprised they were full-sized Lego and not the flat thin ones! Very cool make and take for the kids!! π
We did the haunted house one and the person running it was not sure about the rules, i guess. We ended up taking the legos home. The kids would be done building their creations and the parents were all saying are you sure you do not want to build more. It was funny.
In the title it should read, “Cars”, not “Cards”.
Thanks for catching Lisa! Just updated! π
I wish the legos were in kits rather then a big box with compartments filled with pieces. The last 3 times I went which were my first times going, parents were grabbing fist fulls of legos. They had 5 bags in their hands full of legos. I could not believe it. The last time there were hardly any legos. They were set out on paper plates. I wish people were not so greedy. I go get the legos now while my kids watch. I put them all in one bag but enough to make three items, one for each of my kids. We then take them home to make them. The people are just too pushy and grabby.
Do we need to register for this event or it’s based on a 1st come 1st serve basis?
I have also heard from friends that the ones that aren’t “make and take” events are very disapointing for the kids so we’ll try to go to the last one on the list.
