    Blue is sold out online:(

    • Cas

This code is also in stores, maybe check with your local Target to see if they have it in stock.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn! I am seeing that as well. Thanks for the heads up!

  2. Trina

Darn, it says not available online. Can you get this price in store if I show them the 10% off…?

    • Melissa goldsmith

Yep – just got it for 72.25 with the red card savings!! 🤗🤗

  3. JoJo

This has very mixed reviews on Amazon. Anyone have a recommendation for another affordable option? Can’t justify buying a 4-year old an iPad for Xmas but would like to get her a tablet with educational apps in preparation for kindergarten next year.

    • Regina

We have the leap pad epic.. got it for our kid at 18 months and he loves it still at 2.5 . I am So impressed by some of the games he can play and understands how to do. Seriously this was a life saver and well worth the money.

    • Nicole

For a 4 year old I would get a regular kindle fire and then get a kid proof case. That’s what I did for my 5 year old. I couldn’t justify the iPad cost and bought a fire 6 on Black Friday and then a case for less than 10. I hope
      That helps!

    • hellfire gainz

Just get an adult kindle and buy a case for it. So much better.

    • Ashley

My son LOVES his kindle fire kids. He was 4 when we bought it. He’s 5 now. He even broke the screen and Amazon sent us a new one free without question.

    • JoJo

Thank you all for your feedback! Very much appreciated!

    • Heather

I don’t know why there would be mixed reviews-just buy an adult kindle and get a case. To me the kid kindle is just gimmicky. I have had two different leap pads and they are a money trap. When we made the jump to kindles (each kid has one in my family) it’s soooo nice. There are also TONS of educational games available.

  4. Trina

Wahoo, I clicked on the different color and it was available! This is cheaper than what it will be on Black Friday at Target. Nice price!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yay! So glad you could snag one!

  5. M

    Collin,
Thank you SO much for posting this deal! I just ordered 2 of these from Amazon this morning for $74. I called Amazon to see if they would price match and they said they couldn’t, so I was able to cancel the order and order from Target. Thank you for saving me money since 2009! Happy Thanksgiving 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How cool! SO glad you could score the savings! You’re very welcome! 😀

  6. Meredith

I think it’s great for a preschooler! The one issue we have had with it was the charging jack stopped working but with the two year worry free guarantee, they replaced the whole tablet no questions asked. This was a great buy for the money! I would have even paid more for it!! Haha don’t tell Amazon!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks so much for the great feedback Meredith! Good to know!

  7. Jaci

My little guy is 5 now we bought it 2 xmas ago. Never had a issue so far the case is awesome he has dropped it multiple times.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

So glad to hear how well it has held up! Thanks for sharing!

  8. Theresa

Only pink is available online 🙁

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for sharing! I am seeing that as well.

  9. De

Just ordered one in pink!!! Thanks for the deal info!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re so welcome!

  10. Sara

Is this looking to be the best price if color doesn’t matter? I am trying to research and I am not finding this any lower. My daughter will be 4 this christmas will she still get a few years out this one? Thanks for the help!

    • kim

We got a kindle for my son when he was 3 and he’s now almost 6 and it still works great. The only issue is that the one we got for him does not have enough storage and doesn’t have an option to add more so we bought him the kindle kids tablet that collin posted about. Has the option to add more storage plus has a 2 year worry free warranty. This is hands down a great tablet for a 4 year old and a great price too!

  11. Shell2016

I got this same tablet yesterday at Groupon for 44.99. Just an fyi

    • Mia

Is it still available on Groupon? I don’t see it there.
      Thanks

    • Ashley

Are you sure it’s the same one? I received an email about a different kids tablet that looked very similar for that price. At first I thought it was the amazon Fire kids edition tablet but it wasn’t.

  12. Cat

    Just ordered one! Thanks!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome!

  13. Jen

Anyone know best price for kindle fire? I know I’ve seen someone post it before. TIA!!

  14. Kim

Does anyone know if ABCmouse.com will work on this tablet? TIA

    • april

Yes u can download it on it

      • Kim

Thanks April! 👍😊 I have a preschooler and want to buy a tablet specifically for ABCmouse.com. Anyone recommend this tablet or go with another?

        • april

I bought 2 of these for a 2 year old and a 6 year old n i love them. U can put it in kids mode or adult mode if u want to use it. Also u can put a time limit on them

  15. Jen

We don’t really want to get our kids tablets, but I’m looking more towards the leappad reader system. We have a KDG and a 3.5 year old. Suggestions!! The leap reader system for my younger one doesn’t get great reviews. Suggestions 🙂

    • Ashley

When my son was smaller about that age, I got him the vtech mobigo. He loved it! They have games I think that start at 3 and go up to at least 7 maybe older. I think I am gonna go the Amazon Fire kids tablet for my 2.5 year old though. He plays on my iPad a lot already and loves it! I didn’t really want to go the tablet route with him either but it’s such a good deal and with this tablet I like that it has a 2 year warranty no questions asked! If they drop it and it breaks they replace it! If this wasn’t the case I would never get him a tablet! They also have this kids tablet (like in Collins post) on Amazon for $74.99. I highly recommend the mobigo though! My son loved it and there is quite a few games you can get for it! He got his at 3 and stopped playing with it prob last year when he was 7. He has dropped it several times and it just started last year after 4 years of heavy use and lots of drops to start shutting off once in awhile. I definitely got my money’s worth out of it!

    • Katie

Get this! My 7 year old plays the kids games, I downloaded movies to it, added the free books, and then I cam get on the actual tablet and do what I want on it. We’ve had a couple other tablets, but non of them offers a kids version! It is free for one year, but it does cost something like $4 a month after that.

    • Ashley

I didn’t even think about that and I bought one! So I went and looked on the site. I can’t find anything in the specifications but someone asked that question and someone said it is the 16gb one. I hope it is! Otherwise it’s not really a good deal. You can buy extra storage I think for like $10.

      • Joanna

It is the 16gb one, you can even see that it should state exactly that in your target.com email receipt.

    • Katie

You can add a micro SD card for up to 164gb of extra storage. You can save the apps, movies, books, etc onto the sd cats instead of the tablet.

  16. lisa

Can you download apps from playstore? Like YouTube

    • Heather

Amazon has their own app store, and in the beginning i was worried that it wouldn’t be as good, but there is TONS, and a lot of them are the same as on the play store. Plus, with kindle, there is access to kindle books-i have gotten lots of kindle kids books for my kids that are either free or on sale for $1.

    • Heather

Sorry, yes, youtube runs on my kindle. Just tried it, lol.

  17. Lori

If you have a 4 or 5 year old I would highly recommended spending the extra money and getting an iPad. I got my daughter a iPad mini for like $180 when she was 4, she is now 7 and still uses it all the time especially for school,a lot of the math and reading programs they use are on an iPad so it is definitely worth the money if your child is starting school soon!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for your honest review Lori!

  18. Mary

I just ordered one for my daughter. Thank you Collin

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You’re so welcome Mary! Glad you could score one for her!

  19. Kalynn

Ugh. I’ve been waiting for this forever! I was st church this morning and missed it and now every color is sold out. Darn!

  20. Barb

How does the Kindle Fire HD compare to the kids kindle? My 6 yr old has a Nexus 7, but its getting old and having issue, I want to replace it with something similar – speed, games, movies etc. Does the Fire HD do more than the kids kindle? Thanks

    • Joanna

My son is also 6, and wanted to get him tablet that would not break the bank. From my research, I understood the kindle kids is simply a kindle fire hd 6, but comes already set in “kid mode.” Also, the kindle fire hd is also priced at 69.99 via amazon for a 16gb; however, after you get a case and add on a protective warranty. You will be paying way more for the basic kindle than the kids kindle which is on sale today for 74.99 before coupon, comes with a case already, worry-free 2 year guarantee, plus the one year unlimited free time subscription to age-appropriate games, movies etc.

  21. SummerSun

Has anyone tried using the %10 wishlist app coupon on this? I did verify that this was the 16 GB version and my store has a few in stock

    • SummerSun

The wishlist 10% worked, but it only took $1.40 off..

  22. Jennifer

Does anyone know if this is the best price? Will they be less on Black Friday?

    • Ashley

The only Black Friday deal I saw on this was a little more expensive then this. I think $75 but I can’t remember.

  23. Ashley

I needed the blue one and they were out of stock so I ordered a pink one and my local target said I could exchange it for the blue one as long as I have my receipt.

  24. Connie

How would amazon prime work for a family with two kids having a fire HD each. I have prime but want to share it with the kids so they can watch movies and games.

  25. Diane

I don’t understand why people are saying just get the adult one and put a cover on it. This is a regular kindle but it has an app on it that locks it down for kids under their own id. It’s insanely simple to use it like a regular fire. The only difference is the freetime is already loaded, it has a 2 year replacement plan, a cover, and 1 year of amazon freetime free. It’s a better deal than a regular fire hands down…
