I bought these 2 years ago for my girls. They are now 11 and 8 and they are still using them. Great price…getting a couple more for the gift closet!
Oh cool! Thanks for the feedback Laurie! Glad to hear they have enjoyed them!
These are also great to communicate with a family member who is hard of hearing. Great for them to take to doctor appointments, etc.
check Sam’s. I got one for $10 a few weeks ago, shipped free to my house. Xmas present for my kids. Sam’s had 3 colors available.
Costco has them too. Bought these last year for Christmas and love them!
been wanting this!!! so ex excited thank you so much
You’re so welcome!
I don’t understand the point of these? truly…any explanation/convincing would be appreciated.
Yeah. I don’t get it either. Seems like you could write a note on a piece of paper for close to free.
Me either! I thought about my daughter taking notes in class, but can you send them to an email or have multiple pages to print later…??
It doesn’t look like you can save anything, email anything, or even partially erase. Reminds me of my whiteboard app on the iPad. But notes on it can be saved, emailed, partially erased, be written using different colors of pens.
you can download the app, snap a picture with it and save it or email it. I have not tried it yet since its a xmas gift but that’s what the box said.
We use them a lot around here — we use them to practice spelling words, play around with math problems, just doodle, we take them to Church to keep little hands busy and mouths quiet 🙂 — basically anywhere my kids would doodle, write or draw, but it isn’t important to keep — I love that we don’t end up with piles of paper to throw out, I used to walk out of Church with a pile of papers that came straight home and into recycle. It’s just like scratch paper for us, without any waste — the kids love playing with them.
thanks.
Cool Hilary! Thanks for the great ideas for church, spelling words, and long car rides, etc. My kids would love these. Thanks for sharing!
Can you write on this with a finger or do you need the pen? Thinking for my toddler
Please see my previous comment. These are *WONDERFUL* for people who are hard of hearing. Communicating with doctors etc.
me either… i was thinking maybe to have on my fridge for grocery/to do list…. but doesn’t look like can hang.. plus i realize it erases EVERYTHING… so that DEFINITELY wont work
It comes with magnetic strips.
Ooh thank you. Then this may work for what I’m thinking of usinh it for.
They have it in black for that price too!
Oh cool! I am not finding the black available for the same price now as I click through.
Does this one have a replaceable battery? Some of the reviews are stating that once the battery dies the whole thing is useless as the older model cant be replaced
We probably have the older one as it’s almost 3 years old and the battery hasn’t died yet.
Does anyone recommend the sleeve for protecting it?
the one I got from Sam’s came with a sleeve 🙂
I bought one for my son a few years ago prior to him getting his tonsils out. Since then it’s been stuck to the outside of his bedroom door and we write notes/draw on it. I think it’s cool. Could be used traveling for kids to draw, play hangman, etc when the batteries in their gadgets die. Also stick on fridge for shopping lists.
Cool! Thanks for sharing!
I was going to get these for kids to use while waiting for food at restaurants but the reviews say the battery is not rechargeable or replaceable and some say they don’t last long. Does anyone have this exact model and can share their experience?
Ours are at least 4 years old & heavily used by kids & battery still going strong! I wouldn’t pay any attention to those reviews.
Thanks!
I just bought my 4 year old the Scribble N Play which is made by the same company and is the same concept but it writes in rainbow colors. We bought hers specifically for traveling as we travel quite frequently. I’m also teaching her how to write the alphabet so ours can be used for different things. I wouldn’t say I LOVE the product but it works for what we bought it for.
I see young kids using this at church and at restaurants to preoccupy themselves but reviews on Amazon are mixed, some of the latest reviews suggest to skip it. I’m also trying to justify buying this.
Just bought 4. For this price even if we get a few years out of each it will be worth it. My kids love to draw and write so these will be awesome for church and traveling! Thanks for this deal!
You’re most welcome!
My 2 and 4 year olds have these. They take them to church and have them in the car. They work well for those things. The battery is not replaceable. We have had one for almost three years and it’s still going strong. The second one we bought a year ago and stopped working after about 9months. I wrote the company and they sent us a replacement and even included a free sleeve to store it in! Great customer service.
I have been eyeing these, but I am wary about the battery issues. Wouldn’t a dry-erase board be easier and less costly? Would love to hear feedback from others! TIA!
For us, we use them a lot with practicing homework and at Church — they’re far less messy than dry erase — which I hated bringing to Church because without fail one of my kids would use their dress or dress shirt to wipe something off their board 🙂 — and they’re less bulky than magnadoodles. So for us, they fill that same purpose of something to doodle and draw and write on, that we’re not planning on saving, with no mess, less bulk, and no piles of papers to be recycled. 🙂
My kids always mess up the dry erase boards. This can use finger to draw or write. Less mess and hassle.
My kids always let the dry ears markers dry out. And they are very expensive.
Picked up one at Costco for $15.99. The package says you can download the Jott app and transfer your notes to your phone. It reminds me of a Palm Pilot from a few years ago.
Also dry erase markers are very expensive
HOLY COW! I just figured out u can use the pc code from uploading a picture a while ago to take 20 off when u buy 3 or more!!! Sweet deal!!
I just realized this as well!
I only need 2 of them, so I put 2 of the boards in my cart and 2 of the sleeves for them and the discount code still worked!
Gwen,
Do you mind sharing the coupon code?
hmm what do you mean? is there something i need to do? I would love to buy 3 and get 20 off
Pc code?
It also works on the sleeves for these boards. I bought 2 boards and 2 sleeves and the $20 off promo worked.
I have that code somewhere in my email. Time to start searching!
The actual Boogie Board site also has a deal for the Jot for $14.99 comes with a sleeve to hold it.
We love the Boogie Board.
What site is it? I cannot find this awesome deal? Help!

Thanks a million
Can you provide the link bc I don’t see it on there site? Thanks
https://myboogieboard.com/shop/store/promo/cybermonday16
Awesome thanks. Just realized with the jot you ca replace the battery
Thank you i bought 2 for free shipping! Great deal!
Just curious – has anyone else who ordered through the boogieboard site directly received any notice re: shipping? I have an order summary but haven’t heard anything about them being shipped yet!
It was the promotion they had a while ago where u uploaded a picure and they gave u three codes to use on pc, cameras, and software. U have to already have to code to be able to use it because the promotion is over and u can’t get it now. Unless someone shares theirs with u if they aren’t using it;)
This is also an item Michael’s carries and you can use the 50% (I used my 60% being a rewards member) . It’s usually one of the only things in the store not on sale! Our kids love writing notes to one another and quickly erasing. ☺
How much were they at Michaels
I had got one a couple months ago on clearance and it only lasted a month before the battery died. Beings the battery is irreplaceable, I called the company and they sent me a new one! Ink
Thanks for sharing. Good to know their products are backed up with good customer service!
I’ve had mine for a year and it has held up well with my kids. I bought the biggie board jot model as it brighter and has a replaceable battery. I have since bought my daughter a boogie board jot 4.5 with cover that is smaller (perfect stocking/purse size).
if anyone now realizes they won’t be using their PC code from uploading pics a while back(I just found out about this so I missed it), please share, I’d love to put it to good use!
vboos @Hotmail.com
Thanks so much.
What PC code are people talking about? Thanks
Dang! I remember seeing these on clearance at Kroger for a couple bucks but I passed because the reviews didn’t seem great at that time but everyone here seems to love them. Now I’m wishing I’d have gotten them for my kids instead of the dry erase chores chart I bought. . . .
Ok, I see now what the code is about. If anyone won’t use theirs, I’d love to. Lyhmgt3@hotmail.com
I’ve had one for years, no battery problems. It’s always in my bag. I use it for shopping lists, notes while out, etc. Very handy. No paper waste.
so, they’re LCD screens but can you see the writing in a dark vehicle? for non digital/smart drawing in car rides after dark?
thanks
My daughter begged for one and never used it. Ended up sellinh it for a $1 in a yard sale because no one wanted it.
FYI – You can buy two and add the the magnet set for this to get over the $30 threshold so you can use the promo code!
What magnet set are you talking about?
It is called “Boogie Board Sylus Clip/Magnet Kit”. It was $4.99 which put me over $30. It is still available, but the one I ordered doesn’t say it is sold by Amazon anymore. I believe this is required to use the promo code.
What promo code are you referring too
It was a promo code emailed out by Amazon for uploading photos. One of the codes was $20/$30 computer purchase. This is the one I used for these boards.
Are these visible in the DARK?
Never mind. Found it: https://www.amazon.com/Boogie-Board-Stylus-Magnet-Writing/dp/B003Z3W4A8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1480358111&sr=8-2&keywords=boogie+board+accessories
I got two boogie boards, a flash drive and used the $20 off $30 coupon for a total of $13.47 for all 3 items. Thanks!
What flash drive?
Never mind! I found it! I was also able to get all three for $13! YAY! Here i the flash drive if anyone needs the link https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007KFAFZ8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Thanks!
Where do you get a $20 off $30 coupon? Thanks
It was a promotion Colin posted about a month ago. It is over now. You had to upload a photo to the Amazon photo storage and you got 3 codes for Cameras, Tablets and Software
Costco has the newer model with leather case for 15.99 right now!
In store? That’s how much I paid for mine on black Friday through Amazon but I think I’ll return them and go to Costco if it comes with the sleeve for the same price.
No, not visible in the dark.
Thank you!
If anyone has the $20 off $30 coupon code they won’t be using, I would put it to good use. I think the boogie boards would be a great gift to donate to toys for kids this Christmas. Thanks if you can help.. kajech65@gmail.com
Email address not showing on mobile app kajech65@gmail.com, thanks again if you can help..
If anyone has the promo code I would love it. I need to buy six of these. Thank you so much in advance. Juliehumphrey@cox.net
Yay! Great stocking stuffers! Got one for each of my kids! 2 pink, 1 blue, and 1 black (black also included in $13.99 price)! Thank you Colin!!
You’re welcome Kristina!
Anyone not using their promo code $20 off $30, please email jerrynewkirk@hotmail.com Would be a great help in buying gifts for toy donations for the children’s giving tree.. Thanks
I would also appreciate a promo code if someone has one they will not be using. My email is lagruber0522@yahoo.com Thank You!!
My girls love them. Great for on the go. Playing games, math time, drawing, hand writing, ect. Have had them almost 3 years and still work great.
Great to hear how much they have enjoyed them Sara! Thanks for sharing your experience!
Would these be good for a 15, 13, and 12 year old or are they geared for younger ages?
if anyone has the promo code they aren’t going to use I would really appreciate it! deanna25@gmail.com
I got it last year from BJ’s for $20 it saves paper when doing math homework with my son.
Any coupon code would be great!!! Buying them for my students for Christmas!!! I need 16!!!
I uploaded photos to Amazon during the promotion & still have my welcome email but no coupon codes everyone is mentioning. Was that a separate email? I even looked into junk/trash but nothing.
the amazon $20 off $30 code works on these too!
helped seeing the other uses people mentioned. Homework problems was a great one! Also just thinking how my 19 yr old asked to play on my phone so she could draw in the notes app! Lol. Stocking stuffer!
I missed the sale the price went up. They are also out of stock.
Bummer! Thanks for the heads up! I am seeing that as well.
