Wasn’t Samsung the brand that was exploding or something like that recently that was recalled?
Yes Samsung has issued a voluntary recall on certain washing machines, mine was included. It is only the Top Load washing machines that may have an issue- when washing bulky items like bedding using the longer cycles. I am actually buying the Samsung front loader today as a replacement.

I have this very model. And I love it. The add-on door feature is amazing. It plays a little song to signal when it is done. And it can be controlled from an app on your phone. I highly recommend this washer.

Ms. Frizzle, can you tell me more about your experience? I bought a samsung last year that is recalled. $400 isn’t going to cover the cost of the new one but mine is only a year old. I don’t want to have to spend an extra $150…

Deals on dishwasher or stove?
I’ve had this washing machine for a few years and have had nothing but problems with it. It leaks all over my floor. It has to be drained monthly. It’s really loud on fast spin cycle. Not sure if I’d buy it again.
My top load Samsung washer was part of the recall. They had a technician come out and he actually broke my washer and caused flooding in my washroom. I spent 8 hours on the phone (3 days) just trying to get a real repairman to come out and fix this error. I was given the run around forever. Take heed. Samsung has the worst customer service. This is a good deal but it isn’t worth the hassle of dealing with a company with AWFUL customer service. 🙁

I have had Samsung washer and dryer for 5 years and love them. Took a little adjustment from many years of top loaders, but after changing my thinking, all is well. My only suggestion, is NEVER leave the door shut tight after washing. Let is thoroughly dry out before closing. I have never had a moldy smell. Also us granular detergent to avoid odors.
