I wish my dog could be trusted to do things like this! Heck, I can barely trust my kids enough to do this….
I found a bitter apple squirt bottle from Petsmart, $14.00, you spray it on your hands and your dog doesn’t like the smell, so they won’t bite you. It’s mostly alcohol, so you can also try to put some rubbing alcohol on your hands to detur the dog
Fair warning it’s not a “real” santa.. they just put one into the photo digitally … I take my pup to the pet friendly santa days at my local mall 🙂
Actually you’re wrong I’ve been taking my dog to see Santa Claus at both Petsmart and Petco and never have I once had a digital he placed Santa in the photo we are lucky to meet two elves and a Santa Claus… or maybe u went to a crappy store
She’s right about the digital santa, it may not be every year but I had that at the Petsmart near me about two yrs ago. It’s not that uncommon, it’s not a super big deal but it helps if your dog is skittish I guess.
I’ve been taking my two Shelties for years and it was super disappointing last year it was a digital Santa. All the other 4 years it was a real Santa at PetSmart.
Actually, I know at least one of the Pet Smart locations has a real person. He works in the Doggie Hotel/DayCare. He even grew out his beard!

I think petco is doing this as well. December 10th and 17th from 1-4. I believe it costs $10. Just wanted to let anyone know in case you don’t live near a pet smart.

The one I went to in VA last year was a’real’ Santa.
Sorry for any incorrect information – it must vary by each location so I would call to check before taking the ride.. the digital picture was so lame and disappointing!
My min-pin had nice photos taken the past two years. Yes, it’s a digital Santa, but it was nice. My min-pin likely would not actually go near a real Santa anyways.
I think Petsmart should be complimented for doing this…some people are never happy….even when it’s free.

They let my boyfriend and I in the photo with our cat and lots of other people in the photos with their pets. It was a fun time. I loved seeing all the pets!

Called petsmart. Said email is jammed because all 600 petsmart used the same system. Said it’s normal and it’ll come through tomorrow
Haven’t received my photos either but still hoping. It was a lot of effort coming out of town with two large dogs that were not that easy to deal with. Hope to see the pictures soon…..so looking forward to them. Hope I will not be disappointed. Maybe a better system should be developed? At another store (not a Petsmart) I happen to see the Grinch and the dogs got their photo done again there. The photos were handed to me. Much better than waiting for days not knowing if they will arrive.

It’s now Tuesday the 14th. I stood in line for over an hour and a half Saturday to get a photo of my two and still haven’t received the e-mail with the photo.

I still dont’ have a picture. I’m not going to hold my breath, and I’m definitely not going to waste 90 minutes next time waiting in line to get nothing in return. LOL
Yes it looks like many people are never going to get their photos. I’m not Facebook user but when I was able to expand their post under the Post your Santa Paws photos section a lot of others aren’t getting their photos. Before seeing that but about the same time I first posted here I had sent an e-mail to the PetSmart headquarters , the only online contact asking if they could resend my photo and never received so much as a canned reply/apology stating their e-mail server had proven inadequate for the volume of photos being taken.
A bad PR all the way around, first by not having made adequate plans for the event then for not responding to frustrated customers.
Good news. PetSmart actually responded to my online e-mail requesting they send my photo. Well the first try they sent me my photo from 2015 not my 2016 photo, I responded to that e-mail thanking them but stating it was the 2016 photo that I had never received. Today I received my copy of the 2016 photo. So m y advice would be don’t give up hope Go to the corporate web site petsmart.com and use the contact us link at the bottom of the page. Tell then the store you had your picture taken at, the name, e-mail, and pets names that you gave them when you had your pictures taken and asking that they try resending the photo since you never received your copy.

There was a real santa there, my dog was leary of him lol. But whats taking so long is getting my picture in the email. Still waiting. But I assumeing its because of the volume of emails sent

I had my dogs picture taken on December 9th at Pet Smart in Sarnia and still haven’t got a email of my dogs photo .
I have gotten them taken for three years, but this past year, I still haven’t received my Snuggle’s picture from the December photo taking session at Pet Smart. I usually get them within the week. What’s going on Pet Smart???
I know they’re free, but all of your customers took time out of their busy holidays
to get them taken, and most probably enjoy sharing their dogs pictures. Please respond.
