This is so awesome , I’ve been debating to buy one or not, definitely will for this price! thank you for posting this!
You’re so welcome!
read the reviews on amazon. All reviews said this is a piece of junk. Just an FYI 🙂
Jessica, I just read them, too. So sad this is “a piece of junk,” to use the words of the reviewers. My son would have loved this!
Thank you, I’m glad you replied before I placed my order !
Oh bummer! Sorry to hear that! Thanks for the honest feedback Jessica!
FYI,this has all 1 star reviews on Amazon
Something inflatable meant to be used with ice skates just seems like bad idea…
I thought the same thing!
That’s too bad. My kids would love something like this. Thanks for doing the research!
10×13 feet is small. I am not sure if you could get more then two skaters on that size. We had a 20×40 foot one — cost was like $200. But it was worth every penny. We used it year after year and all the neighbors did too! Bought it when the kids were around 4-5 and has it up every winter through middle school. Then sold it. Go bigger and better if you can afford it. It’ll pay for itself over time.
Thanks for the review! Good to know!
Even if..for $14, fill the outside ring with water so everything freezes and then you will have an ice skating rink for them to use for a few months if it stays cold where you are. Beats taking the kids to the ice skating rink where we pay this much and only stay 15 min because thy are cold.
that’s what i’m thinking. It costs us $9 to go to the local rink. If he gets 3 or 4 uses out of this it will be worth it 🙂
This is sooo neat but Hubby would say we was us ruining the grass.
LOL! I did not even think of that. It probably would!
You can tell him that grass goes dormant in the winter! Lol
it wont ruin grass in winter….promise!
I got one for this price we are going to try it out☺ Thanks Hip2Save!!
You’re very welcome!
Thank you for sharing the reviews! The one I read said it was good….. bummer! My child would have loved it!
Thanks for the heads up. Ordered one for each of the families. 2 young kids in each family and they skate. I already bought hockey equipment and goals for Christmas this will go nicely with them. Even if they only last one winter it’s worth it since they are all 4-6 years old than to go to a rink.
You’re welcome Vickie! Happy you could grab them!
Thank you!! I had bought this when it was $49.99! You saved me $35!! 😊
Sweet! You’re welcome Julie!
I had a good laugh about this (mostly at myself) because it took me 5 minutes to figure out how this works.
Now ‘scuse me while I go put my bathing suit on here in Florida because we still have the A/C on… 🙂
Lol! 😉
Oh my gosh, me too! I was trying to figure out if it had something that needed to be plugged in to keep the ice frozen.
Lol!!! I’m in Florida, and yeah it’s been so hot this week I had to turn the AC back on. I saw this and got excited until I realized you have to fill it with water and wait for it to freeze. It’s too shallow to be used as a hot tub (that’s what the temperature of the water will be if I get one because it definitely will not freeze here), but it would be nice to have your own ice rink right outside your door.
I bought one of these brand new in box at a garage sale for $1. Couldn’t pass it up for that price. Where do you put it? I wouldn’t think you could put it in grass because frozen grass would be bumpy to skate on. The driveway? Then you can’t get into the garage.
I think on the grass, but I think it would work on the drive, too, but I would not want to give up my garage, especially in the winter!
grass wont be bumpy after you put over an inch of water on it…the water self levels as it freezes…it will take away the bumps and make a smooth surface(unless it gets crud in it from trees or is super windy as its freezing)
Thanks hip2save! The reviews may not be so great but for $15 my 7yo hockey player will have a blast doing some drills outside!
Oh good! You’re welcome Erin!
So cool, too bad it doesn’t get that cold in Texas
I have mine still in the box. Not sure what I’m waiting for. Has anyone actually used one before and have any tips..before I learn the hard way?
