I have been there a few times, live in Austin. I wouldn’t drive out of state for it but I guess if you are traveling through Waco to get to Austin it would be worth the stop 🙂 Super busy and actually enjoyed more going to the the antique shops that Joanna frequents outside of Waco more than going to the Silos. I would like for them to put a house tour of some of the renovations they have done. That would be awesome!
Yes, we absolutely love Waco and Magnolia market! Such a fun place for a weekend getaway. We are about three hours away and I cannot wait to go back!
My husband and I flew from NH just to visit the Silos! We were in Waco for 2 days and it was a blast…and the perfect amount of time to see everything we wanted to see/do.

It’s not that I don’t respect people’s views, I just don’t know if I can support someone who won’t flip a house for a gay couple orhave them on their show (obviously.) Religion is one thing, and business is other.
Where have they ever stated that they would not flip a house for a gay couple? I’m as liberal as they come, and also a Christian. I know the media has made a big deal about what church they go to, but I’d rather hear it from them directly, (Chip and Johanna) before judging. Just my 2 cents.
I don’t support every company that Collin mentions, but I don’t feel the need to come to her blog and announce it. Just scroll past what doesn’t interest you. As far as Chip and Joanna, they’ve done absolutely nothing offensive to anyone.

Yep. That’s how it is now. People aren’t allowed to have religious beliefs that differ from popular culture. Just because someone’s faith considers homosexuality a sin doesn’t mean they have hatred towards gay people or are prejudice. It’s always the left hating Christians. If it was a Muslim couple with a tv show (whose faith also doesn’t accept gays) no one would say boo.

Tina I agree! Freedom is what makes us American. It makes me so sad that people would want to destroy other people because of their faith. It’s so important that we clarify the fact that we are entitled to have FAITH, and it’s not just in the home but everywhere we go we are free to believe what we feel is the truth. If you don’t like the show then that’s okay to not watch it. I do that with MANY shows that offend me. But I don’t go around trying to destroy the people making those shows, or demanding that they give up their beliefs!! That is totalitarian.

I live just an hour away and stopped there once to see how it is. Honestly, it wasn’t as great as I was expecting. Smaller than I imagined. Like others have said if you’re passing through you can make the stop, but I don’t suggest a trip out of state just for this. I also went to TCU so I’m not a fan of Baylor or the crazy city I like to call Wac(k)o. 😛
Just my opinion- go see for yourself.
Their cheddar bacon biscuits are heaven. Cupcakes are not worth it.
If you do plan on going I suggest visiting Café Homestead and having lunch there. It’s a short drive North from Magnolia Market. That’s what my family did. Best food you will ever eat.
I agree about making a stop at Cafe Homestead if you are in the area! Amazing food and a beautiful place!
